Department of English

The Department of English has consistently endeavored to bring in academic
excellence in the department and the university. The Department has tried to bring in a healthy academic environment since 2008 and this is evident today in 2011.

The Department has constantly been interacting with leading academicians in India and the singular contributions by Dr. Nilufer Barucha Professor, University of Mumbai must be acknowledged. She has been a guiding force in the department and has come to the university to teach our students and to undertake the viva voce examinations also. She is one of the leading authorities in the world on Post colonial studies, Gender studies and Ethnic studies. She has a long and distinguished service in universities all over the world. The Department is deeply indebted to her for her
guidance.
