Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bangalore invites applications for admissions to Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test (Karnataka DCET) for the academic year 2016- 17.
Karnataka DCET is an yearly exam conducted for admissions to 2nd year/3rd semester in Engineering and 1st year to Architecture Courses in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un‐Aided professional educational institutions in the state of Karnataka for the academic year 2016-17
Karnataka Diploma Common Entrance Test (Karnataka DCET) admission is conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bangalore.
Candidates have to appear for the Common Entrance Test-2016 conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority to become eligible for admission to these courses.
The candidates seeking admission only to B.Arch Course need not have to appear Diploma Common Entrance Test 2016 conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. However, they need to have valid NATA score and apply online to become eligible for admission to First year/First Semester B.Arch Course.
Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
For B.E Courses (Day Engineering College):
- A Candidate who has passed any Diploma Exam or Equivalent Exam and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final-year (5th & 6th sixth Semester) Diploma Exam (QE) is eligible (40% of marks in Q.E in case of SC/ST & OBC of Karnataka candidates)
For B.E Courses (Evening Engineering College):
- A candidate who has passed any Diploma Exam or equivalent exam and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (5th & 6th semester) Diploma Exam (QE) is eligible (40% of marks in QE in case of SC/ST & OBC of Karnataka candidates)
- In addition to this a candidate after passing the diploma, must have minimum of 2-years full time work experience as on 1st Sept.-2016, of the year of admission, in a registered
For B.Arch Course (Only in Day Engineering College):
- A candidate who has passed any diploma exam or equivalent exam and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects of the final year (5th & 6th semester) Diploma Exam (Q.E) is eligible; and 45% of marks in Q.E in case of SC/ST & OBC of Karnataka candidates along with 40% marks in National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture
Filling up the application and submitting it with requisite fees is the first step to taken by candidate. The Application Fee is Rs.650/- for General and OBC candidates, and Rs.500/- for SC/ST Category-I
The applicants have to enter and submit their details in the prescribed application form through online only. Detailed instructions/ information are given in KEA website http://kea.kar.nic.in
Step 1: Enter all the details ONLINE by browsing URL on web http://kea.kar.nic.in by selecting "Diploma GET-2016"
After completion of entry of all the details, candidates will receive an application ID and Password to their registered e-mail address and also the same information will be displayed on the screen
Step 2: Upload the scanned copy of recent passport size Colour Photo and Signature in JPG format separately
Step 3: Download and Print the Challan copy which is in triplicate. Candidates of Karnataka origin have to pay an amount of Rs.650/- for General and OBC (Rs.500/- for SC / ST Category-1)
The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branch of State Bank of Mysore along with the downloaded challan. The bank will retain bank copy of the Challan and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the candidates
Step 4: Take a printout of the application form on A-4 Size paper. Affix candidate’s recent Passport size Photo, Signature, Left Hand Thumb Impression on the space provided in the printed application form
No change in any information entered by the candidates will be entertained

The Diploma CET 2016 will be held in one session, conducted for 180 marks with 3 hours (180 minutes) duration. Additional 25 minutes will be given for filling Name, Admission Ticket No. Version Code and Serial Number in the OMR Answer Sheet and Question Booklet
The question paper will be of (objective) multiple-choice type; the question paper will be in different versions. Each question will have for different options. Each question will carry 1 (one) mark
Duration of the Test: 3 Hours
