Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
- Every candidate who is going to apply for JUET 2016 should verify the information related to eligibility criteria:
- Eligibility criteria for Masters Degree (excluding Ph.D & M.Phil), B.Lib.I.Sc, Bachelor Degree (LLB) and B.P.Ed: Passed graduation with science, Arts, commerce or Business administration
- Candidates should have completed 2 years of degree course by following the 10+2+2 or 10+1+3 pattern. Besides, they should have completed one year of duration bridge course comprising Part III of B.Sc/ BA/B.Com
- Candidates should have completed 3 years of professional degree course along with 40% of marks (36% of marks for SC/ST category candidates)
- Candidates who do not belong to territorial of the University of Jammu but obtained 60% of marks B.Sc/ BA/B.Com/BCA/BBA

- Once the JUET Entrance application form is submitted online, the system will generate a challan form preprinted with the candidate's details. The candidates are required to pay the requisite fee at any of the designated Branch* of the Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. nearest to him/her through offline mode
- The applicants are requested to positively collect hard copy of JUET-2016 Brochure from the J&K Bank Ltd. at the time of payment of requisite fee. On payment of the requisite fee through computer generated challan, the process for the online application will be completed
- Application Fee for the Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) to be charged from each candidate is Rs.650/- for General Category and Rs.550/- for SC/ST/ST (Leh & Kargil). The candidate desirous to be considered under self financing seats has to pay additional Rs.550/- along with the requisite Entrance Fee

There shall be two question papers, one for PG and the other for UG Courses Comprising of 150 Objective Type Questions of one mark each and the duration for the entrance test shall be 2½ hours. The contents of the paper and weightage shall be:
a) General English - 40 questions
b) General Knowledge - 40 questions
c) Reasoning - 40 questions
d) Numerical Ability - 30 questions
For every wrong answer, there shall be negative marking of 0.25 marks. The candidate securing less than 30% marks for general category and 25% for SC/ST category shall not be eligible for admission. The following weightage shall be given to the candidates:
1. Academic Merit - 75%
2. Entrance Test - 25%
There shall be two question papers for JUET-2016, one for the candidate appearing after 12th class and other for the candidates appearing after graduation
The level of numerical ability shall be of 10th standard only for both the question papers
The level of test for other components shall be of 12th standard in case of candidate appearing after 12th class and graduation standard for the candidates appearing after graduation
