Indian Plywood Industries Research and Training Institute (IPIRTI), Bangalore invites applications for admissions to PG Diploma in Wood & Panel Products Technology for the academic year 2016- 17.

About Courses

The PGDC in WPPT aims at imparting professional knowledge and skills with regard to processing technologies for efficient utilisation of wood through conversion into engineered wood and a variety of panel materials/products viz. plywood, particle/fibre board, block board, flush door .The course also includes processing technology on bamboo mat based panel products and adhesive technology. Standardisation aspects with respect to quality management and BIS certification are dealt with in details. Working knowledge on the use of computers and the internet is also imparted. Emphasis is given not only to theoretical background of various technologies but also practical and hands-on exercises. The PGDC in WPPT is the only course of its type available in the country that has been widely recognised by the Industry. The annual intake of candidates for the course is restricted to 30.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
- Candidates possessing degree in Graduate in Science (B.Sc. in Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics/Agriculture)/ Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from any recognized University are eligible to apply for the PGD course.

- Candidates are selected from all over the country on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Preference in admission is given to candidates sponsored by industries or organisations.

- Upper age limit is 28 years as on 1st November of the course year.

- Relaxation in age limit for SC/ST/OBC/PH is as per the Government of India rules.

- There is, however, no age limit for sponsored candidates.

Mode of Examination

PG Diploma in Wood & Panel Products Technology is Computer Based Test (CBT).

Application forms for the post graduate diploma course in wood and panel products technology can be downloaded from IPIRTI website and submitted by enclosing Demand Draft Rs.250/- (non-refundable) drawn in favour of Director, IPIRTI, payable at Bangalore.
