IIT Jodhpur announces MSc Admission 2016

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur invites applications for admissions to Master of Science (MSc) for the academic year 2016- 17.

Master of Science (MSc) is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur.

The aim of the M.Sc Program is to develop graduates having good knowledge and research training in emerging areas of sciences. IIT Jodhpur has organized Master’s Program in domains of following three departments of the Institute, namely

Courses Offered:

i. M.Sc in Physics
ii. M.Sc in Chemistry
iii. M.Sc in Mathematics

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
- Bachelor's degree with Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics as a subject (respectively for Department of Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics) for three years or six semesters and Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics at (10+2) level

- A first class in the qualifying degree is required; and the First Class is defined as: (i) A minimum of 60% marks for GEN/OBC (55% for SC/ST) category in aggregate or as specified by the university/institute, or;

- A minimum CGPA of 6.5 for GEN/OBC (6.0 for SC/ST) category on the scale of 10; with corresponding proportional requirements when the scales are other than on 10 (for example 5.2 for GEN/OBC category (4.8 for SC/ST) on a scale of 8) OR (iii) A first class as specified by the university/institute

- Applicant must be JAM 2016 qualified

Applicants are required to pay the Processing Fee of Rs.300 for General & OBC Applicants and Rs.150 for SC/ST and PD applicants online while submitting the application form
Applicants shortlisted for the written test and/or interview will be required to bring the final submitted application form duly signed along with a copy of JAM 2016 Score Card at the time of written exam and/or interview

  • Announcement of short listed candidates for the admission process: 25th April 2016
  • Date of Written Test and/ or Interview in Dept. of Physics: 11th May 2016
  • Date of Written Test and/ or Interview in Dept. of Chemistry: 16th May 2016
  • Date of written test and/ or Interview in Dept. of Mathematics: 17th May 2016
  • Announcement of Admissions Results: 21st May 2016

IIT Rajasthan is one among the new set of IITs announced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The location of the IIT in Rajasthan will be announced by the Govt. of India after completion of the formalities of land acquisition for setting up the new IIT in Rajasthan. However, in the meantime, IIT Kanpur has been designated as the mentor IIT for looking after the incubation activities of the new IIT in Rajasthan. The academic session in IIT Rajasthan will commence from August 2008. To start with, a 4-year B.Tech.
