IIS Sitapura organizes Mathematical workshop

16th February 2016: Jaipur: Sitapura situated India International School organized a Mathematics workshop on Tuesday. Almost 30 students from 12 different schools have strengthened their bond with mathematics and enhanced reasoning and logic skills.

The workshop was conducted by Bodhayan Sansthan, a registered society for enhancing Mathematical skills. The workshop comprised of two sessions and an exhibition. The first session was taken by Shri Sohan Lal Gupta on working with numbers and tricks for quick calculations. This was followed by session two, which was a practical session. Students worked in groups of six and prepared models on tangent properties of circle theorem.

Students also made 3D solid shapes from paper and understood comparisons of fractions under the guidance of Shri Nagarjun Sharma. At the end, the students viewed an exhibition of various working models based on geometrical theorems.

Workshop on “Advanced Techniques in Biological Sciences” commenced

A 7-day workshop on “Advanced Techniques in Biological Sciences” organized by the Centre for Research, Innovation and Training (CRIT) of The IIS University commenced on Tuesday. In the inaugural session, Prof. Pradeep Bhatnagar, Dean, Faculty of Sciences introduced the gathering with the aims and objectives of the workshop. “This workshop will be helpful for the participants to learn various techniques associated with animal cell culture and molecular biology, including DNA & protein isolation, electrophoresis, PCR etc., he said.”

VMSIIHE holds baking and culinery workshop for the teaching staff of Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao V. M. Salgaocar Institute for International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) recently conducted a one day workshop on cake decoration, confectionery and baking for the teaching staff of Damodar College of Commerce and Economics. A group of fifteen enthusiastic teachers underwent a short intensive training in baking of variety of cakes, confectionery and decoration of cakes.

The IIS University marks 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar The IIS University celebrates the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B R Ambedkar on Thursday. On the occasion of the 1st Constitution Day, Preamble reading session was organized in which Dr. Ashok Gupta Vice- Chancellor of the University read the preamble in front of the gathered students and staff members. A Photo and Poster exhibition was organized at the campus about the Indian Constitution, the Constituent Assembly and life and work of Dr. B R Ambedkar to increase awareness in this regard.
