Board of School Education Haryana (HSEB) invites applications for admissions to Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) for the academic year.
To ensure that persons recruited as teachers possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels, one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools recognized by the Department of School Education, Haryana and affiliated by the Board of School Education, Haryana is that he/she should pass the “Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test”. “HTET” will be conducted by this Board in accordance with these Guidelines and such other rules/regulations/instructions/policies laid down by the National Council for Teacher Education/Department of School Education, Haryana.

Eligibility Criteria

- Candidate must have done their Graduation / Post Graduation in related field and Diploma/Degree in Education may apply for the HTET 2017.

- All individuals who posses minimum educational qualifications etc. as delineated in the service rules relating to the teachers of all the three levels (available on the website of the School Education Department, Haryana and also in these guidelines are eligible to take the test (HTET) which will be conducted for the following three levels:

i) who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V (Primary Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification

ii) who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII (TGT-Trained Graduate Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification

iii) who intends to be a PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification

However, a person who intends to be a teacher for levels (i) and (ii) mentioned here above (i.e. Teacher for classes I to V and VI to VIII) and fulfils minimum qualifications for both levels will have to apply Online for both separately

Minimum Educational Qualification

For Teachers of Classes I-V (Paper I):
Candidates for this category should have passed in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with 45% marks with 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4 year B.El.Ed /2 year Diploma in Education in Special Education are also eligible (or);

Candidates with Bachelor Degree (50 % marks ) and B.Ed qualification can also apply

For Teachers of Classes VI-VIII (Paper II):
Candidates for this category should have Bachelor Degree (B.Sc./B.A./B.Com etc.) candidates with 2 year D.Ed./ B.Ed (OR) 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc (Ed.) / B.Ed (Special Education) with 50% in BA or B.Sc both Appearing & passed candidates are eligible

For Lecturers of Class XI-XII:
Candidates for this category should posses the Post Graduate (PG) Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects

How to Apply

i. Carefully go through the Information Bulletin "Guidelines/Instructions-Scheme of Examination" available on the website of the board website.

ii) Submitting Aadhar Card Number is desirable while applying for Online Application

iii) Proceed for remittance of examination fee through e-challan as per instructions given on the aforesaid website of the Board

iv) Access/Login the website of the Board and follow the instructions as mentioned in the column "How to Apply - On-line Application Form"

It is also essential that the candidates should mention their name, father’s name, mother’s name and date of birth as mentioned on their certificate of secondary exam; mentioning Roll No. of Secondary Exam, year of qualifying Secondary Exam and Name of the Board are also essential

v) Candidates are advised to keep one copy of Computer Generated Application Form (Confirmation Page) with them for future reference; there is no requirement to send any hard copy of any document including Computer Generated Application Form (Confirmation Page) to the Board

vi) Online submission of multiple applications for a particular Level to the Board will be viewed seriously; candidature of such candidates shall be liable to be cancelled and the candidate may be debarred for future exam(s) without making any correspondence in this regard

Paper Pattern

HTET Syllabus Level - I - For becoming Teacher for Classes I-V : Primary Teacher

There shall be only one paper. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.

No. of MCQs – 150; Duration of examination: 2.30 Hours.

Structure and Content (All Compulsory):

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  2. Language I (Hindi) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  3. Language II (English) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  4. Mathematics 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  5. Environmental Studies 30 MCQs 30 Marks

Nature And Standard Of Questions:

  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
  • The Test items for Language – I (Hindi) will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction.
  • The Language II (English) will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  • The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes I-V by the Education Department, Govt. of Haryana.
  • The questions in the tests for Level-I will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for classes I-V, but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, could be upto the secondary stage.

HTET SYLLABUS Level - II - For becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage(TGT)

There shall be only one paper. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.

No. of MCQs–150; Duration of Examination: Two-and-a-half hours.

Structure and Content:

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy (Compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  2. Language I - (English) (Compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  3. Language II 30 MCQs 30 Marks (Hindi/Sanskrit/Panjabi/Urdu – Choose any one)

    (iv) (a) For Mathematics and Science Teacher: Mathematics and Science: 60 MCQs 60 Marks

    (b) For Social Studies teacher: Social Studies: 60 MCQs 60 Marks

    (c) For Hindi/English/Sanskrit/Panjabi/Urdu/Home Science/Physical Education/Art/Music Teacher: Choose either (iv) (a) OR iv (b) - 60 MCQs 60 Marks

Nature And Standard Of Questions:

  • The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
  • The test items for Language I (English) will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction.
  • The Language II (Hindi/Sanskrit/Panjabi/Urdu) will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  • The test items in Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The test items of Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each. The test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes VI-VIII by the Board of School Education Haryana.
  • The questions in the tests for Level-2 will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Board of School Education Haryana for classes VIVIII but their difficulty standard as well linkages could be upto the senior secondary stage.

HTET Syllabus Level - 3: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)

There shall be only one paper in this category. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. No. of MCQs–150; Duration of Examination: Two-and-a-half hours.

Structure and Content:

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy (Compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  2. Language I (Hindi) (Compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  3. Language II(English) (Compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
  4. Subject Specific 60 MCQs 60 Marks

  • The Language II (English) will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities relevant to the age group of 14-17 years.
  • The test items in subject specific will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes IX-XII by the Board of School Education Haryana.
  • The questions in the test will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Board of School Education Haryana for classes IX-XII but their difficulty standard as well linkages could be upto the Post-Graduate level.

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.

Cutoff

The cut off score depends on difficulty level of exam, availability of seats, number of applicants, etc. Based on the cut-off score examination authority prepares the merit list and candidates are called for counselling.

Results

The candidates are required to enter their respective HTET 2017 Roll Number for checking their result and downloading of their scorecard. The result will furnish the rank secured by the candidates. Based on the result of HTET and the cutoff screening, eligible candidates would be selected for the next round of selection process.

Counselling

Candidates who are qualified in Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test will be called for the counselling process of HTET 2017.
