Candidates seeking admission to various M.Sc. programmes of GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM University are required to appear for GITAM Science Admission Test (GSAT) to be held at various centres in Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India. Admission is based on the rank obtained in the entrance test. Requirement for admission to all science programmes is a minimum aggregate of 50% or second division marks in group (optional) subjects in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility Criteria

For M.Sc Programs: Requirement for admission to all science programmes is a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in-group (optional) subjects in the qualifying exam

Candidates who have already passed qualifying exam or who have appeared/are appearing for the final examinations in 2016 are also eligible

For M.Sc Applied Mathematics: B.Sc with Mathematics as one of the subjects; and Maths & Physical Sciences in Intermediate or 10+2 level

For M.Sc Physics: B.Sc with Physics, Mathematics and any other

For M.Sc Electronics Science: B.Sc with Electronics/Physics, Mathematics and any other subject

For M.Sc Analytical Chemistry: B.Sc with Chemistry as one of the subjects

For M.Sc Organic Chemistry: B.Sc with Chemistry as one of the subjects

For M.Sc Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Food Science & Technology: Any two of the following subjects in B.Sc: Agriculture, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Food & Nutrition, Genetics, Home Science, Medical Lab Technology, Microbiology, Zoology, B.Tech Biotechnology / Agriculture / Chemical Engineering / Biomedical, BPharm

For M.Sc. Bioinformatics: Any two of the following subjects in B.Sc: Agriculture, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Food and nutrition, Genetics, Home Science, Mathematics, Medical Lab Technology, Microbiology, Physics, Zoology, BPharm., B.Tech CSE/IT/Biotechnology/Biomedical

For M.Sc. Environmental Science: First preference will be given to BEM candidates; the remaining seats will be allotted to candidates with B.Sc in Life Sciences or Physical Sciences, B.Tech Biotechnology/Chemical/Civil/Environmental/Biomedical

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

Candidates seeking admission to the above programs are required to appear for an entrance test GSAT-2017 to be held at various centres in Andhra Pradesh and parts of India Admission is based on the rank obtained in the entrance test

Master of Computer Application (MCA)

Candidates seeking admission to MCA program are required to appear for an entrance test GSAT-2017 to be held at various centres in Andhra Pradesh and parts of India Admission is based on the rank obtained in the entrance test

Eligibility: Requirement for admission to the MCA programmes is a pass in any degree with 50% marks and Mathematics at 10+2 level or degree level or equivalent examination Candidates who have already passed qualifying examination or who have appeared/are appearing for the final examinations in 2017 are also eligible

Application Fee

Application Fee is Rs. 350/-
The test fee for Five year Integrated M.Sc. Chemistry Rs. 500
Candidates appearing for more than one test need to submit separate application along with the prescribed fee of Rs. 300

How to Apply

  • Applications can be downloaded from GITAM website.
  • Applications can be obtained by post, from Principal, GITAM Institute of Science by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address, accompanied by DD for Rs.350/- (inclusive of Test fee Rs. 300/-) drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. Request by post will be accepted till April 2017. The test fee for Five year Integrated M.Sc. Chemistry sponsored by Laurus Labs is Rs. 500.
  • Candidates appearing for more than one test need to submit separate application along with the prescribed fee of Rs.300/- for each test.
  • Filled in applications along with attested copies of the following certificates and the prescribed fee of Rs.300/- or Rs. 500 as the case may be should reach the Principal, GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM University, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-530 045, A.P., India

Candidates are required to submit following:
- Date of Birth extract of SSC / ICSE/CBSE / Matriculation certificate

- Degree / Provisional Certificate of the qualifying degree examination in the case of candidates appearing for PG programmes. Intermediate / 10 +2 certificate in the case of candidates appearing for UG programmes

- Caste Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming reservation under SC/ST

- Medical Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming under PH category

Syllabus

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The admit card of the candidate applying for GSAT 2017 will be available on the official site .After the announcement of hall ticket the candidate able to download the card by filling up the application number. Candidate can download and take the print out of their admit card. The hall ticket would be available online by 2017.

Results

Every year the entrance examination GITAM Science Admission Test 2017 is conducted in the month of May and the results are declared in the month of June. The result of the applicants will be available on the official website where students can mention their enrolment number and can check their results. If the candidate is qualified in the exam then he/she is eligible for counselling process.

Counselling

Shortlisted candidates of GITAM Science Admission Test will not be intimated regarding counselling through separate letters. They are supposed to check the list and the date which will be available on the official website. For more details regarding counselling process visit official website.
