Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) Chandigarh invites applications for admissions to BSc Programe for the academic year 2016- 17.

BSc Programe admission is conducted by Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) Chandigarh

Courses Offered:

i. B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology
ii. B.Sc Medical Technology (X-ray)
iii. B.Sc Medical Technology (Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Techniques)
iv. B. Optom.
v. B.Sc Nursing
vi. Pre Hospital Trauma Technician Course

Admission to these courses will be strictly on the basis of rank/merit obtained in GMCH Combined Entrance Test (GCET-2016) to be conducted by Govt. Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
- A person who has passed 10+2 exam in Medical group in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University

- A person who has passed 10+2 vocational course (Medical Laboratory Technology) in their respective elective subjects & English with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University

- A person who has passed Part–I of B.Sc. medical with aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates from any institution recognized by Panjab University

- A person holding qualification of 3 yrs. Diploma in MLT (equivalent to 10+2) & must have obtained aggregate of 45% marks for General category and 40% marks for SC candidates, from any recognized Board/Council/University, shall also be eligible

- Before applying, candidates are advised to go through the admission notice and the instructions carefully, published in the newspapers/prospectus and then fill in the online application form.

- Before applying for any course, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils all the eligibility norms. The candidate should have the requisite educational qualifications from recognized University/Institute.

Fee Details:

The amount of Fee to be paid is as under:
a) Rs.500/- (General Category) + Bank charges (if any)
b) Rs.300/- (SC Category) + Bank charges (if any)

Candidates should ensure that the details to be filled in by the State Bank of India officials are filled in all three (03) copies of the Challan along with the seal, Challan no. and signature of the Bank Official of the Branch.

Important Dates:

BSc Programe Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.

  • Online registration starts: 06th June, 2016
  • Last Date of Submission of Application Form: 27th June 2016 (upto 5.00 pm)
  • BSc Programe 2016 Admit Card: 04th July 2016 (after 02.00 pm)
  • Date of Examination BSc Programe 2016: 07th July 2016 (at 10.30 am)
  • Declaration of BSc Programe 2016 Results: 08th July 2016 (after 02.00 pm)

Selection Process:

Results will be announced on 08th July 2016 (after 02.00 pm).

The Government Medical College, Chandigarh was started during the year 1991 in pursuance of the No Objection Certificate issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, vide their U.O.No. 12013/31-90ME(P) dated 15-01-91. The defacto Government Medical College was started in the Prayaas building, sector 38, Chandigarh after the foundation stone laying ceremony was performed by the former Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Chandra Shekhar on 20 January, 1991 in sector 32 on the quilt of 36.09 acre of land allotted by the Chandigarh Administration.
