National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2016 Exam Date

 

Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi invites applications for admissions to National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-II (UG) for the academic year 2016- 17.

NEET II is an yearly exam conducted for admissions to MBBS/BDS Courses in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-II (UG) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-II (UG), 2016 is applicable for admissions to the following:

i. All India Quota Seats

ii. State Government Quota Seats where the State Govt. concerned so opts

iii. Private/Management/NRI Quota Seats in all Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
(i) Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible for appearing in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-II (UG), 2016

(ii) The candidate must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2016 of the year of his/her admission to the 01st year MBBS/BDS Course

(iii) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats in Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Govt., Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the State of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana is 25 years as on 31st December 2016 of the year of the entrance exam

Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of SC/ST/OBC

(iv) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS seats under the control of States/Universities/Institutions shall be as per the rules of the State/University/Institution concerned

(v) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying exam

In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying exam be 40% instead of 50% for General candidates

Further, for persons with locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are appearing in Class XII Exam in 2016 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later

(vi) Candidates from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and J &K are not eligible for 15% All India Quota seats, as these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. However, they are eligible to appear in NEET-II for admission in Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University and AFMC, Pune

Application Procedure:

Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Board’s website www.aipmt.nic.in Instructions for submitting online application and payment of fee are available on website

Candidates may remit the fee in the following manner:

a) Through any Debit/Credit Card using online gateway payment facility or

b) Through e-Challan by depositing fee in CBSE’s Bank Account maintained by Syndicate Bank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank or HDFC Bank directly by downloading the e-Challan Form from the Website of www.aipmt.nic.in [For candidates deciding to pay fee through e-Challan, last date for submission of online application is 21st June 2016]

d) e-wallet of Common Service Centre (CSC)

Who Can Apply in Neet-II:

As per the directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 09.05.2016, in Writ Petition (C) No.261 of 2016 and other connected matters, following candidates can apply in NEET-II:

a. Left out candidates who could not register in AIPMT-2016/NEET-I

b. Candidates who were registered in AIPMT-2016/NEET-I but could not appear in NEET-I

c. Candidates who were registered in AIPMT-2016/NEET-I and had appeared but have apprehension that they had not prepared well subject to submission of an undertaking to give up their candidature for NEET-I

Fee Details:

Application fee For General /OBC Candidates: Rs.1400 (INR) and For SC/ST/PH Candidates: Rs.750/- (INR)

Important Dates:

NEET II Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.

  • Online registration starts: 26th May 2016 (Thursday)
  • Last Date of Submission of Application Form: 25th June 2016 (Saturday)
  • NEET II 2016 Admit Card: 08th July 2016 (Friday)
  • Date of Examination NEET II 2016: 24th July 2016 (Sunday)
  • Display of OMR Sheet (NEET-I & NEET-II) from: 04th August to 06th August 2016
  • Display of Answer Key (NEET-I & NEET-II) from: 07th August to 09th August 2016
  • Declaration of Combined Result of NEET-I & NEET-II: Will be intimated through website

Selection Process:

The Entrance Test shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen provided by CBSE at centre only

- The duration of test would be 03 hours

- Language of the Question Papers

(i) Candidates can opt for Question Paper either in English or in Hindi; (ii) Option of medium of Question Paper should be exercised while filling in the application form and the option once exercised by candidates cannot be changed later; (iii) Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only and the candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e in Hindi and in English

The Question Papers for the test shall be based on a common syllabus notified by the Medical Council of India (Please see Appendix-I for details)
