University of Calcutta, Kolkata invites applications for admissions to M.Phil Programmes for the academic year 2015 - 16.

M.Phil Programmes is conducted by University of Calcutta, Kolkata.

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

=> Any candidate who has passed the M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. or equivalent Examination of this university with 55% marks in aggregate (S.C./S.T. with 50%marks)or With 60%marks in aggregate of any other recognized University.

=> Students who are taking M.A./M.Sc./M.Com Part II Examination and or Final Semester Examination in the abovementioned subjects may also apply provisionally and sit for the admission test but their Final admission would depend on passing the examination obtained the required marks mentioned above.

=> Candidates who have qualified NET, SET or any equivalent national level examination are exempted from the admission test, but not from the interview.

=> Students who have done M.A. in South & South-East Asian Studies and any Social Science subjects, can apply for admission to M.Phil in South & South-East Asian Studies.

=> Candidates for any stream of M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. and/or other P.G. degrees from any recognized university are eligible to apply for the course of Women’s Studies.

=> Candidates of any stareams of M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. and other P.G. degrees from recognized Universities are eligible to apply for Women’s Studies.

Application Procedure:

Completed Application will be received by the office of the Secretary, U.C.A.C, Collage street campus, Asutosh Building, Ground floor, Room No.3G . Forms for Education, Sociology and Women’s Studies are to be submitted at the Alipur Campus, 1, Reformatory Street, Kolkata-700027.

Fee Details:

Application fee is Rs 500 is to be paid by General category candidates and a fee of Rs.250.

Course Fees: Rs. 4000/- to be paid in case by the selected candidates at the time of admission.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be selected based on entrance exam conducted by the university. Those candidates who clear the exam will be called for an interview round.
