Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) invites applications for admissions to P.B. B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing for the academic year 2015 - 16.

P.B. B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing is an yearly exam conducted for admissions to {course name} at Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS)

P.B. B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing is conducted by Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS)

Courses Offered:

1. Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing (2 Years)
2. B.Sc Nursing (4 Year, 8 Semesters)
3. M.Sc in Nursing (2 Years)

Duration:

First Year P.B.B.Sc (Nursing) - 2 years
M.Sc (Nursing) - 2 years Course

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

I. M.Sc Degree in Nursing (2 years) Program
A candidate who fulfills the following shall be eligible for M.Sc (N) Program
i. The candidates should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any state Nursing Registration Council
ii. The minimum education requirement shall be pass in B.Sc Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc Nsg/B.Sc Nursing Hons
iii. The candidates should have undergone B.Sc Nsg./Post Basic B.Sc Nsg./B.Sc Hons Nursing in an institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council
iv. Shall have minimum one year of work experience after B.Sc Nursing
v. Shall have minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
vi. Candidate shall be medically fit

II. Post Basic B.Sc Nursing (2 years) Program
A candidate who fulfills the following shall be eligible for P.B.BSc(N) Programme

i. Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary or Sr. Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent exam recognized by the university for this purpose and have done 10+1/PUC on or before 1986 will be eligible for admission
ii. Obtained a Certificate in General nursing & Midwifery and registered as Registered Nurse & Registered Midwife with State Nursing Council
iii. A male trained before the implementation of new integrated course registered as an A grade nurse with State Nursing Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in leiu of Midwifery
iv. Worked for a minimum period of 2 years as a Nurse in a Hospital /Institution or a full time public health nurse for one year after obtaining the above mentioned diploma
v. Candidates shall be medically fit

III. B.Sc Nursing (4 Years / 8 Semesters) Program
i. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission
ii. The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of Higher Secondary School certificate Exam (12 years course); or

Senior School Certificate Exam (10+2), pre-degree exam (10+2); or

An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with minimum 50% aggregate marks and English as a subject

iii. Candidate shall be Medically fit
