MIER College of Education, Jammu invites applications for admissions to Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in General and Bachelor of Education in Special Education (Mental Retardation) Programmes for the academic year 2015 - 16.

B.Ed is conducted by MIER College of Education, Jammu.

The B.Ed Special Education Programme aims to develop teachers for children with disabilities for various settings This course will prepare human resources to enable them to acquire knowledge and develop competencies and skills to impart education and training effectively to all children including children with special needs especially in the area of mental retardation.

Courses Offered:

i. B.Ed General
ii. B.Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation)


i. B.Ed General: 4-year
ii. B.Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation) full-time regular 2 years Courses (4 Semesters each)

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

B.Ed General Course
=> A candidate must have passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination with 50% of the aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories) in the faculties of Arts, Science, Social Science, Commerce and Music and Fine Arts from the University of Jammu or an examination of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto or Bachelor’s Degree Examination of 4-year duration of a recognized university

B.Ed Special Education (MR)
=> A candidate with 50% of the aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories) either in the Bachelors Degree and / or in the Masters Degree in Sciences /Social Sciences / Humanities, Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) or any other qualification equivalent thereto from a recognized university [Candidate holding Bachelor’s Degree of one sitting pattern or having degree from Study Centres /Franchises of other Universities (except IGNOU) or have passed in the bi-annual/supplementary exam in the same academic year in which admission is being sought are not eligible for admission]
