MDes Programmes 2015-17 @ Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay invites applications for M.Des for the year 2015.

M.Des Programmes is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.

M.Des Programmes Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

M.Des Programme at IDC
=> The candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST) or
=> equivalent grades in the qualifying examination (as listed below)

Industrial Design
=> Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture Design/Interior Design, or equivalent
=> Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT, or equivalent)

Visual Communication/Animation/Interaction Design
=> Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design, or equivalent
=> Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent)
=> BFA (4 year Professional programme, after 10+2)
=> GD Art (5 years programme after 10th) with one year professional experience
=> Master’s degree in Arts/ Science/ Computer Applications

Mobility and Vehicle Design
=> Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design or equivalent
=> Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent)
=> BFA (4 year Professional programme, after 10+2)
Separate application form must be submitted for each discipline along with an application fee for each

All applicants who would like to be considered for admission must be qualified through CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design)

M.Des Programme for Foreign Nationals
1. A minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grades (6/10 or 2.4/4) at the qualifying examination.
2. Valid TOEFL score (for candidates from non-english speaking countries)
3. Outstanding portfolio (to be evaluated by PGC of IDC, IIT Bombay)

Application Procedure for M.Des Programmes:

Candidates are advised to refer to official notifications /documents for detailed application procedure. IndCareer.com published details for informational purpose.

=> The test will be held on 20th March, 2015 from 9.30am onwards at the VMCC Seminar Hall in IIT Bombay. The details of the admission procedure
will be web hosted by first week of March, 2015.

=> This will be followed by an interview at IDC on 21st and 22nd March 2015. The list of selected candidates (provisional) will be displayed on www.iitb.ac.in admission site in the month of April.

=> Plagiarism and/or using external(agencies) help in the preparation of the candidates’ design portfolio is against the principles of the admission process. If any such malpractices are detected, the candidate can be disqualified even after the admission is offered.

=> The candidates selected for admission(provisional) will be required to pay the admission fees and other deposits in the month of April.

M.Des Programmes Important Dates

M.Des Programmes Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.

  • 15th January, 2015 : Access to downloading the M.Des application forms
  • 30th January, 2015 : Last date for downloading the M.Des application forms
  • 10th February, 2015 : Last date of receipt of hard copy of the completed M.Des application forms
  • 9th March, 2015 : Dates for displaying the list of selected candidates for M.Des test
  • 20th March, 2015 : Date for M.Des Written Test
  • 21st March, 2015 - 22nd March, 2015 : Date for M.Des Interview
  • Declaration of Results on IDC Website
  • 1st Offer — 17th April, 2015
    2nd Offer — 30th April, 2015
    Payment of Fees
    1st Offer — 17th April to 29th April, 2015
    2nd Offer — 30th April to 10th May, 2015
