Indian Institute OF Technology (IIT), Bombay announces Ph.D Admission 2015

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay invites applications for admissions to Ph.D Programs (2nd Sem) for the academic year 2015 - 16.

Ph.D Programs (2nd Sem) admission is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

=> For Ph.D admission Candidates must have master’s degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent degree, with First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ ST).

Candidates should have one of the following:
=> Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology with First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST).

=> Master’s degree in Science or equivalent degree, with First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST)

=> Master's degree in Arts/Commerce or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST), only for admission to the Ph.D. programs offered by the Industrial.

Application Procedure:

Candidates are advised to refer to official notifications /documents for detailed application procedure. IndCareer.com published details for informational purpose.

=> Admission is offered on the basis of an interview held usually a month before the commencement of the semester for which admission is sought. The interview may be supplemented by a written test, if necessary

Candidates are required to submit following:
You MUST upload the following while submitting the Ph.D. Application.
=> Scanned version of  photograph. 

=> Scanned version of signature.

=> Mark­sheet of the last semester/ Consolidated mark­sheet of the qualifying degree. Result awaited candidates have to upload their latest/previous semester mark­sheet.

=> Caste Certificate (OBC­NC/SC/ST), if applicable. An affidavit for having applied in case the certificate is not yet received. 

=> PwD Certificate, if applicable.

=> Sponsorship certificate, if applicable.

=> Statement of Purpose (SoP),  a sample  of writing  (if applicable),  research proposal (if applicable),

Fee Details:

The application fee is as follows,
=> GN/OBC­NC Male candidates application fee is Rs. 300/­- 

=> Third Gender (T) candidates  application fee is Rs. 300/­-

=> GN/OBC­NC Female candidates application fee is Rs. 150/­- 

=> SC/ST Male candidates application fee is Rs. 150/­-  

=> SC/ST Female candidates application fee is Rs.150/­-
  
The fee is to be paid by Debit Card/ Credit Card/ SBI Internet Banking /Online Payment System/ Demand Draft drawn on any Nationalized Bank in  favour of "Registrar, IIT Bombay", payable at Mumbai branch. 

Important Dates:

Ph.D Programs Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.

  • Registration starts Tuesday, September 1, 2015
  • Availability of application forms Tuesday, September 1, 2015
  • Last Date of Submission of Application Form: 15th October, 2015
  • Last date for Departments to send the list of candidates for Written Test/Interview: Friday, October 23, 2015
  • To display the list of candidates called  for Entrance Test and/or Interview Friday, October 30, 2015
  • Date of Entrance Test or Interview (for all categories): December 2, 2015 (Written Test) and December 2 & 3 2015 (Interview)
  • Declaration of Ph.D Exam Result December 15, 2015
