IMU CET 2015 (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Tests) Notification and Exam Dates

Indian Maritime University invites applications for Common Entrance Tests (CET) for the year 2015.

IMU CET is an yearly exam conducted for admissions to UG and PG course at Indian Maritime University.

IMU CET is conducted by Indian Maritime University.

All admissions to the various UG and PG programmes of the IMU and its Affiliated Institutes will be through All-India Common Entrance Tests (CETs) conducted every year, usually in the month of April.

There will be a CET common to all UG programmes. There will be a CET common to the 2 MBA programmes; another CET common to the 2 M.Tech programmes; and yet another CET for the programme. The results of the CETs are valid for the particular Academic session only.

The Indian Maritime University has switched over to Computer-based CETs on the pattern of IIT-JEE from 2014 onwards. The CETs for the August 2014 batch and for the February 2015 batch of DNS were conducted in this manner. The CETs for the August 2015 batch of admissions will also be Computer-based.

IMU CET Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

DNS course (One Year) leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science)
i)10+2/equivalent (PCM-60%) or
ii)B.Sc(PCM).,/ B.Sc (Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years) Marks not less than 50%.,
iii)B.E./B.Tech from IIT or college recognised by AICTE Marks not less than 50%.,
Note: English Marks are to be 50% or more in any one of the above examination

3 Year B.Sc (Nautical Science)
=> 10+2/equivalent (PCM-60% & English- 50%)

3 Year B.Sc (Maritime Science)
10+2/equivalent (PCM-60% & English- 50%)

Mode of Examination

IMU CET is Computer Based Test (CBT).

Application Procedure for IMU CET:

Candidates are advised to refer to official notifications /documents for detailed application procedure. published details for informational purpose.
1. Please keep a soft copy of your digital photo and signature ready before you start.

2. Please visit IMU’s website at and click on the CET 2015 hyperlink. It will redirect you to the Online Registration page of the website of the Service Provider.

3. The online registration process involves the following two stages.

Stage - I:
i) Fill the online application form carefully.
ii) After you submit it, you will get a system-generated application number which will also be communicated to you by Email and SMS.
iii) You will also be able to download SBI Challan form. Take a print out of the Challan form.
iv) Save the application.
v) For future logins, use this system-generated application number as your ‘User ID’ and your date of birth as ‘Password’.
Note 1: Fields marked with * are mandatory.
Note 2: Please keep a printout of the application summary for your reference.

Stage - II :
i) Make offline payment in any SBI Branch and note down Journal Number mentioned in the Challan.
ii) Click on the link “B2” under “B” provided in the Online Registration Process in the Common Entrance Test 2015 Web Page on IMU’s Website.
iii) Update the payment details in the saved Online Application form.

Note 3: The Online Registration Process is complete in all respects only when both the stages have been done correctly.
Note 4: “Edit” option is available for changing all available details except “Personal Information” and “Contact Details”
Note 5: Once the payment details have been updated the Online Registration Process is complete and no further editing will be possible

Fee Details:

Application Fee is Rs.1000 for General candidates and Rs.700 for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates.

IMU CET Important Dates

IMU CET Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.

  • Last Date for Online Registration: 6th April 2015
  • IMU CET 2015 Admit Card: From 11th April 2015
  • Date of Examination IMU CET 2015: 25th April 2015 between 2pm – 5pm
  • Declaration of IMU CET 2015 Results: 30th April 2015
  • Date(s) of Counselling for all UG & PG Programmes: 11th May 2015 to 12th June 2015
  • Certificate Verification: 22nd June 2015 to 3rd July 2015
  • Date of Commencement of Programmes: 3rd August 2015

The Computer-based CETs for IMU’s UG and PG programmes are scheduled to be held on 25th April 2015 Afternoon between 2 pm and 5 pm in a single shift.
