Dr. YSR Horticultural University announces MSc and PhD Admissions 2015

DR YSR Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem invites applications for admissions to MSc and PhD for the academic year 2015 - 16.

MSc and PhD is conducted by DR YSR Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem.

M.Sc (Horticulture) with specialization in Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Floriculture & Landscape Architecture and Plantation, Spices, Medicinal and Aromatic Crops and Ph.D (Hort.) courses from candidates possessing B.Sc (Hort.)/ B.Sc (Hons.) Horticulture & M.Sc (Hort.) degree respectively.

M.Sc (Hort.)
=> with specialization in Fruit Science (07)
=> Vegetable Science (09)
=> Floriculture and Landscape Architecture (06)
=> Spices, Plantations, Medicinal and Aromatic Crops (04) seats
Total of 26 seats

Ph.D(Hort.)
=> with specialization in Fruit Science (02),
=> Vegetable Science (02),
=> Floriculture and Landscape Architecture (01) and
=> Plantation, Spices, Medicinal and Aromatic Crops (01)
Total of 06 seats

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

=> Candidates seeking admission into Master’s Degree course in Horticulture must have passed the relevant Bachelor’s Degree i.e, B.Sc (Hons.) Hortilculture with a OGPA of 5.5/10 and for Ph.D a minimum of 6.50/10.00 OGPA in M.Sc (Horticulture) from ICAR Accreditated University

=> Age: The upper age limit is 40 years as on 1st July

Application Procedure:

Application should accompany Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Comptroller, Dr.YSRHU, payble at Tadepalligudem" for Rs.500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) for M.Sc (Hort.) and Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) for Ph.D (Hort.) for general category and in case of SC/ ST/PHC candidates Rs.250/- and Rs.500/- respectively along with two self addressed envelopes with pincode affixing postage stamps of Rs.05/- on each.

Applications duly filled in together with Demand Draft and all the prescribed certificates should be sent to "The Registrar, Dr.Y.S.R. Horticultural University, Administrative Office, Venkataramannagudem, Near Tadepalligudem-534101", West Godavari District on or before 20th July 2015

DR YSR Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem
The University was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh through G.O.Ms.No.134 dated 26-06-2007 at Venkataramannagudem, near Tadepalligudem in West Godavari District. It is the second Horticultural University in the country. Andhra Pradesh being the leader in the production of mango, oil palm, chillies, turmeric, sweet orange, papaya and second largest producer of total fruits and spices richly deserves Horticultural University to increase the productivity, sustaining the productivity and commercialization of Horticulture in the State.
