DFRL Mysore announces PG Diploma Course in food analysis and Quality Assurance Admission 2015

Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), Mysore invites applications for admissions to PG Diploma Course in food analysis and Quality Assurance for the academic year 2015 - 16.

The Post-graduate Diploma Course in Food Analysis and Quality Assurance of 10 months duration, recognized by the University of Mysore, Mysore

PG Diploma Course in food analysis and Quality Assurance Admission is conducted by Defence Food Research Laboratory (DFRL), Mysore.

Course Curriculum

The course has been designed not only to impart theoretical fundamentals but also exhaustive practical training in chemical, biochemical and microbiological methods of food sampling/analysis and food preservation techniques besides an insight into food laws, framing of specifications, standards, statistical and instrumental methods in food quality assurance. The medium of instruction is only English.

Full Time 10 months Duration

Intake:

A maximum of 25 students will be enrolled for the course.

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

=> The candidates should have a minimum Degree in Science with Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subjects or Degree in Agriculture/ Veterinary Science/Home Science/Nutrition and Dietetics/Food and Nutrition/Food Science and Nutrition securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate.

=> Students who have obtained B.Sc. Degree (correspondence) and Engineering degrees like B.Tech/BE are not eligible.

Candidates are required to submit following:
a) Original SSLC and B.Sc. Marks cards (I year, II year, III year and degree certificate).

b) Caste certificate wherever applicable.

c) DD for Rs. 20,000/- drawn in favour of “The Director, DFRL, Mysore” payable at Mysore towards course fee.

d) DD for Rs. 1,000/- drawn in favour of “The Director, DFRL, Mysore” payable at Mysore towards Caution Money Deposit – Refundable.

e) Candidates from Universities in Karnataka State have to pay a sum of Rs.11,695/- only through Challan at the State Bank Of Mysore Branch, University of Mysore office (Crawford hall) towards registration/admission.

f) Candidates of Universities other than the State of Karnataka shall obtain the Eligibility Certificate by paying Rs. 4,510/- through Challan at the State Bank Of Mysore Branch, University of Mysore office (Crawford hall).

g) Candidates from Universities of other States have to pay a special fee of Rs.8265/-apart from Rs. 11,695/-totaling (Rs. 19,960/-) through Challan at the University of Mysore office (Crawford hall) towards registration/admission.

h) A minimum of Rs. 1,150/- has to be paid in cash towards hostel rent (5 months) as advance for hostel requirements of the candidates.

i) Two separate DD,s (Nataionalised Banks) have to be purchased for Sl. No. (C) and (D) above.

j) Refund of any kind for the course fee paid to the University will be governed by the University of Mysore and has to be applied to the University
Directly on their prescribed application forms.

k) A sum of Rs 400/- each is to be paid towards expenses for Seminars, Lectures and other functions at DFRL

Fee Details:

The course fee is Rs. 20,000/-, which is payable at the time of admission toward tutorial, lecture materials, laboratory facilities and visits to industries as envisaged during the span of the course.
