Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) 2015 Notification and Exam Dates

Aliah University, Kolkata invites applications for Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) for the year 2015.

Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) is an yearly exam conducted for admissions to M.Sc., MBA, MCA, MA, MJMC, M. Tech, BA, B.Sc., LLB, etc at Aliah University, Kolkata.

AUAT is conducted by Aliah University, Kolkata.

Except the 2-year M Tech, B.Ed and Ph.D programmes, admissions to all other programmes run by the University are made through Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT)

The AUAT-2015 will be taken in three diff erent groups as given below:

AUAT Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
=> A candidate has to sati sfy all the eligibility conditi ons given below for appearing AUAT-2015:
a) Candidates applying for AUAT-2015 should have passed / expected to pass the qualifying examinati on listed in Secti on 7.1 before getti ng admission to the programmes they wish to apply at the ti me of counseling. They should sati sfy the eligibility criteria listed in Secti on 7.2.
b) Candidates should meet the age requirements given in Secti on 7.4.

=> Candidates applying for AUAT-2015 in 4-year B.Tech, 5-year integrated and 3-year Arabic (Hons.),Theology/Kamil (Hons/Gen.) courses should have either completed or should be appearing in 2015 in any one of the following qualifying examinati ons.

a) The fi nal examinati on of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board, such as West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examinati on (WBCHSE), West Bengal Board of Madrasah Educati on (WBBME), Central Board of Secondary Educati on (New Delhi) (CBSE), Council for Indian School Certifi cate Examinati on (ISC), etc

b) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examinati on conducted by a recognized Board/University

c) Final Examinati on of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the Nati onal Defense Academy.

d) General Certificate of Education (GEC) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

e) High School Certifi cate Examinati on of the Cambridge University.

f) Any Public School/Board/University Examinati on in India or in any foreign country recognized by the Associati on of Indian Universiti es as equivalent to the 10+2 system.

g) Senior Secondary School Examinati on conducted by the Nati onal Insti tute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum of fi ve subjects or H.S. Examinati on Conducted by W.B. Council of Rabindra Open Schooling.

h) 3 or 4-year Diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Educati on.

i) Age Limit: For Course Code A 01, A 02, B 01 to B 03, D 01 and D 02 maximum age limit is 22 years as on 01-07-2015.
For CourseCode C 01 to C 11, and D 03 (except C 07 and C 08) maximum age limit is 25 years as on 01.07.2015.
For Course Code C 07, and C 08, the maximum age limit is 35 years as on 01.07.2015

Application Procedure for AUAT:

Candidates are advised to refer to official notifications /documents for detailed application procedure. IndCareer.com published details for informational purpose.

=> Read the admission information brochure and eligibility criteria carefully before starting your application process

=> Applying in courses you are not eligible for will only cause your application to be rejected and application fee will not be refunded

=> You have to ensure that you fill in all details and complete the entire application process at one go. If you leave it in between, you will have to start the process once again

=> After you have completed the form and made payment, you will get a unique application ID. Please use this ID in all communications

=> Students filling the online application can pay the application fee through online payment mode (Debit card/Credit card/Net Banking), Demand Draft (DD)

=> Make sure you have the Card details or Demand Draft ready before starting the application process
You will need to upload the scanned images of your photograph and signature in the online application form. Image size should be less than 500 kb

=> Keep the name of the Image file as “Pic” for photograph and “sign” for signature (No special characters allowed in the image file names)

=> The Candidate who wants to pay through Demand Draft must purchase the Demand Draft in Favour of “The Registrar, Aliah University” Payable at Kolkata

=> Submission of confirmation sheet along with documents is Mandatory for all Candidates may submit it by post/in person to University office address the Chairman, AUAT-2014, Aliah University, DN-18, Salt Lake, Sector-V, Kolkata-91

=> Duly completed Application Form should not be folded, stapled or pasted together the Application Form and should be inserted in the envelope supplied The envelope containing the Application Form and attested copies of Age proof, marksheet etc must be submitted to the CVS centres from where the forms have been collected In case of ONLINE application, the ‘Confirmation Sheet’ generated are to be submitted ONLINE

AUAT Important Dates

AUAT Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.

  • Last Date for Online Registration: 02.02.2015 (Monday) – 20.03.2015 (Friday)
  • Last date for receipt of Applications by post : 27.03.2015 (Friday)
  • AUAT 2015 Admit Card: 06.04.2015 (Monday)
  • Date of Examination AUAT 2015: 10th May, 2015
  • JEE (Main)/WBJEE successful candidates can apply (only for B Tech course): 01.06.2015 (Monday) - 22.06.2015 (Monday) [10 AM – 3 PM]

Possible Test Venues: AUAT-2015 for Course Code A 01, B 01 to B 03, C 01 to C 11, D 01 to D 03 & E 01 will be conducted only at a few strategically located towns in West Bengal as listed below. Candidate has to choose any two centres as first and second choice.

Pattern of AUAT-2015

The candidate wish to appear in AUAT-2015, must apply through online mode of applicati on process by the 20th March, 2015.
The paper of AUAT-2015 examinati on is of two hour durati on (100 marks) for all programmes:
=> Part – A (25 Marks) on English, Islamic Studies, and General Knowledge (in the rati o of approximately 2:2:1).

=> Part-B (75 Marks) for all A 01 programmes will comprise of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathemati cs. (in the equal rati o, i.e. 1:1:1).

=> Part-B (75 Marks) for MBA course, will be on basic Mathemati cs, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, Commercial Arithmeti c and elementary knowledge in concerned area.

=> Part-B (75 Marks) for all 2-years Masters programmes (except MJMC), 5-year integrated M.A in English and 5-year integrated M.Sc in Geography, will be on the concerned subject.

=> Part-B (75 Marks) for MJMC (C 07) will be on English (concept of Language and Literature), Fundamentals of Journalism & Mass Communicati on having its role as fourth pillar of Indian Democracy, Sports and Cinema.

=> Part-B (75 Marks) for 3-years (Hons) in Arabic, and 3-years Kamil programmes will be on the concerned subject.

=> Part-B (75 Marks) for 3-year MCA programme will be comprised of Reasoning, Quanti tati ve Apti tude, Data Interpretati on, Problem Solving Questi ons and Discrete Quanti tati ve Analysis respecti vely (30 Marks) and Basic Mathemati cs (45 Marks)

=> Part-B (75 Marks) for LATERAL ENTRY to B. Tech programme will be comprised of Engg. Mathemati cs (20 marks), Basic Computer Science (15 marks), Strength of Material (10 marks), Engg. Mechanics (10 marks) Environmental Engg. (10 Marks), & Basic Electrical Technology (10 marks)

=> Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of writt en examinati on (100 marks) only.

N.B. Questi ons in all papers will be of objecti ve type in multi ple choice questi ons (MCQ) format, which are to be answered on a specially designed machine-gradable sheet (ORS-Opti cal Response Sheet) using Black/Blue ball point pen only. For the language programmes, it may have 10-20 marks descripti ve questi ons also.
