S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata invites applications for Advanced Post Doctoral Manpower Programme (APMP) for the year 2015.

Advanced Post Doctoral Manpower Programme (APMP) Admission is conducted by S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata

APMP Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

=> The applicant prior to PhD should have a first class, in B.Sc. and M.Sc or equivalent examinations.

=> An applicant who has a recent PhD/submitted/about to submit thesis, must have at least three (3) publications in refereed journal of impact factor preferably greater than one (1) when the application is made.

=> For candidates who are having post doctoral experience, the minimum number of should be five (5) in refereed journal of impact factor preferably greater than one (1). The selected candidates will be strongly engaged to work independently. However, a member of the faculty will act as a mentor.

=> The upper age limit for award of PDRA shall be 35 years.

Application Procedure for APMP:

=> Before applying please verify your Research interest with the present research work undertaken at the Centre.

=> Applications in plain paper with complete CV supported by all relevant documents pertaining to academic qualifications.

=> A short statement of research interest and at least two (2) letters of reference can be sent by the applicant at [email protected] .

=> For applicants who are having post-doctoral experience should give names of at least three (3) references one of whom should be thesis supervisor
and the other one should be the mentor of last post doc assigned.

=> The soft-copy should be followed by a hard copy.

=> For consideration of application in January - last date of submission November 30

=> For consideration of application in April - last date of submission February 28

=> For consideration of application in July - last date of submission May 30

=> For consideration of application in October - last date of submission August 31

Selection Process:

=> The selection procedure will be done four times in a year.

=> The four times 'gather' for PDRA selection will be in January, April, July and October.

=> The selection would be through assessment of academic achievements of the candidate and by interview by a Selection Committees constituted for the purpose. Second class AC rail fare is admissible to those applicants who are called for interview. The validity of the offer of award shall be six months from the date mentioned in the award letter. The recommendation of the Selection Committee as approved by the Director will be final.
