Research Degree Programmes Admission 2014 at National Law School of India University

Applications are invited for admission to the following Research Degree Programmes:
1. M.Phil : One Year Programme
2. Ph.D. (in Law) : Three Years Programme
3. Ph.D. (inter-disciplinary) : Three Years Programme
4. LL.D. : Three Years Programme

Instructions to Candidates

1. Read the Regulations relating to Research Degree Programmes and satisfy yourself that you are eligible to seek admission to the course and you are willing to undergo the rigorous education and training offered at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU). (Visit NLS Website www.nls.ac.in for detailed Regulations)

2. The application form should be downloaded from NLS website. .

3. The filled in application form along with a DD of Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees two thousand only) drawn in favour of Registrar, NLSIU and payable at Bangalore, along with the Research Proposal (as detailed in the Regulations) and other necessary enclosures to the Registrar, NLSIU, Nagarbhavi, P.B.No:7201, Bangalore-560072 on or before 31st July, 2014.

Date of issue of Notification for Admission to Research Degree Programmes (NLS Website : www.nls.ac.in) Advertisement in National Dailies will follow in due course :
Last date for receipt of application with the Research Proposals :
Date of Admission Test : 16.08.2014
Presentation of Research Proposal before the Panel of Experts by candidates successful in Admission test : 29th & 30th Sept. 2014
Last date for payment of Registration Fee by candidates admitted to the Research Degree programmes : 06.10.2014
Date of commencement of the Course work by candidates admitted to the Research Degree Programmes : 16.10.2014
Duration of the Course work 16.10.2014 onwards

The co-operation of the Karnataka Government, the Bangalore University and the initiatives of senior members of the Bar Council of India as well as that of Karnataka State Bar Council gave the project distinct possibilities of realization over the years. The idea gained more supporters in course of time within the Council and outside who worked at different levels to establish the institution in the interest of better legal education and higher standards of legal research and training.
