University of Delhi invites application for PhD Admission for the year 2014 - 15.

Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi announces admission in PhD in Management for the session 2015. Online application form for PhD in Management at University of Delhi will be available from 8th October 2014. Interested and eligible candidates may apply before 10th November 2014 for University of Delhi PhD admissions 2015.

PhD Eligibility:

=> Interested candidates should fulfil following eligibility criteria:

=> Those candidates keen to apply for Faculty of Management Studies Doctoral Programs in Management.
They need to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT-2014) conducted by IIM (Indian Institute of Management) on 16th November and 22nd November 2014, unless exempted as per condition provided in Faculty of Management Studies Information Bulletin.

=> Those candidates are exempted from the admission test are required to apply on a prescribed application form with a DD of Rs. 250/- drawn in favor of “The Registrar, University of Delhi” by 12th January 2015.

=> To be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme, a candidate must have obtained a Master’s/M.Phil. degree of the University of Delhi, or
any other recognized University, or a Post-graduate Degree in an allied subject equivalent thereof.

=> She/he must have obtained either a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in the M.Phil. degree or a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in the Master’s degree.

=> Candidates having a MBA/Master’s Degree in an allied subject from University of Delhi or equivalent would be required to write the CAT-2014 for admission to the Ph.D. programme.

=> Such applicants should have a minimum experience of two years post their MBA/Master’s Degree on the date of writing the admission test.

=> Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree of duration of four years or more, viz. B.Tech. or

=> MBBS who have obtained a minimum of 70% and 60% marks or equivalent grades respectively, and also have obtained any national level fellowships, are also eligible to apply for the Ph.D. programme.

=> Permanent teachers of any recognized University/College other than the University of Delhi, employees of a Research Institute in India and candidates sponsored by their employers will be considered for admission to the Ph.D. programme only if they obtain study leave for a period of two years to fulfill the residency requirements of the Ph.D. programme of the University of Delhi.

Foreign Nationals
Foreign Nationals with Indian or foreign degrees, but who are not currently staying in India, need to apply via the respective Consulate/Embassy with a mandatory minimum GMAT Score of 650. Such candidates should have fellowship from their country of origin and/or recognized international agencies. Foreign Nationals with foreign degrees are required to submit both GMAT as well as TOEFL scores.

All Foreign Nationals will be required to fill the form of Board of Research Studies (Management), Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi if selected for the Ph.D. Programme. The form should be submitted along with a Demand Draft of Rs.250/-drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of Delhi, Delhi - 110007. Foreign Nationals are also required to submit a research proposal, clearly indicating research objective, methodology and a tentative bibliography alongwith the form. All Foreign Nationals seeking admission to Ph.D. programme should apply through the office of the Deputy Dean (Foreign Students), Conference Centre, opposite Botany Department, University of Delhi, Delhi–110007, India, latest by February 28, 2015.

Note: If selected, admission will be granted only after the candidate arrives with a valid Student/Research Visa, and gets registered with the Foreign Students’ Registry Office, University of Delhi.

PhD Application Procedure:

=> Applications for admission to the programme are invited through advertisements in major national newspapers every year. Applicants can register themselves for admission to Ph.D. Programme through FMS website by filling up online registration form and by paying the requisite registration fee of Rs. 1000/-, between October 8, 2014 and November 10, 2014.

=> Candidates (except those exempted from admission test) seeking admission to the doctoral programme, are required to take the Common Admission Test (CAT)-2014 to be conducted by Indian Institutes of Management on November 16, 2014 or November 22, 2014.

=> Applicants may visit for appearing in the Common Admission Test (CAT-2014).

=> Short listed candidates will thereafter be required to submit the registration form to the Board of Research Studies (Management) at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, latest by January 12, 2015.

=> Candidates exempted from the Admission Test (CAT-2014) will be required to apply by submitting the completed registration form to the Board of Research Studies(Management) at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi latest by January 12, 2015. The application form should be submitted after paying requisite fee online through website

=> All eligible candidates, including those declared successful in the CAT-2014, will be required to appear for a Personal Interview to be considered for admission to the doctoral programme at FMS.
