Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Eligibility:

Interested candidates should fulfil following eligibility criteria:
Ph.D in Electronics Engineering Program:
=> Candidate should have master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering)/ Instrumentation Engineering
=> master's degree in Physics

For Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering Program :
=> Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Automotive Engine Tech, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation, Maintenance Management, Metallurgical Engineering, Production/ Manufacturing Engineering/ Mechatronics/ CAD/ CAM/ CIM and in related areas depending on the research topics

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) is Computer Based Test (CBT).

Candidates are required to submit following:
=> Duly Completed application form
=> Rs.250/- in the form of a Demand draft
=> A passport size photograph
=> Attested copy of Master Degree

Fee Details:

The candidate can pay the application fee of Rs.250/- in the form of a Demand draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, IIITD&M Kancheepuram payable at Chennai and received at the IIITD&M Office in person or by speed post; the fee is Rs.125/- in case of SC/ST/PD/Female Candidates

Tentative dates of test/interview For Ph.D in Electronics Engineering, Mathematics Programs : 10th December 2014 (Wednesday)

Tentative dates of test/interview For Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering, Physics Program : 12th December 2014 (Friday)

Declaration of Results: 16th December 2014 (Tuesday)

Selected candidates need to submit/send their acceptance together with the fees for the first semester on or before 24th December 2014 in person or by speed post

Academic session for Jan-May 2015 will starts on 01 January 2015

Courses Offered:

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mathematics, Physics, Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering for the session January 2015.

List of documents to be submitted at the time of interview / discussion before departmental research committee:

=> The completed Application form should accompany a Demand Draft for Rs.250/- (Rs.125/- for SC/ST/PD/Female Candidates)

=> Demand Draft should be in favour of “The Registrar, IIITD&M Kancheepuram” payable at Chennai

=> Copies of all the Mark sheets /grade cards, degree certificates

=> The OBC candidates have to submit an attested copy of the valid non-creamy layer certificate in the prescribed form issued by competent authority

=> Copy of the valid GATE score or NET (UGC-JRF/Lectureship/CSIR/ DAE-JEST) or other fellowship award, as the case may be

Selection Process:

Results will be announced on 16th December 2014 (Tuesday).
