Application invites for M.Phil Programme in Contemporary English Studies Admission 2014 at Kannur University.
One calendar year from the date of commencement comprising two semesters, each semester shall have 450 contact hours distributed over a period of 15 weeks from the date of commencement However a student shall be given an extension of six months more to complete the programme subject to the stipulations of the university
* Candidates seeking admission to the programme shall be required to have obtained a Master degree in English of this University or any other Indian or foreign University recognized by Kannur University as equivalent thereto
* Candidates seeking admission shall have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination
* However, candidates belonging to other socially and economically backward communities are eligible for a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying exam
* Those belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes having secured a pass in the qualifying degree examination are eligible to apply for admission to the programme
The rank list for admission to the course shall be based on the index marks calculated as per the following criteria Criteria: a) Qualifying examination - 50 (Weightage); b) Entrance Test - 40 (Weightage); c) Interview - 10 (Weightage); Total: 100 (Weightage)
Application forms may be downloaded from the website link: www.englishkannuruty.com The scholars have to register for the required number of courses at the beginning of each semester before the classes begin They have to complete the prescribed prerequisites for the course before registration The filled in application with a challan receipt for Rs.250/- (SC/ST only Rs.100/-) or a demand draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Kannur University may be submitted to the Professor and Head, DSE, Thalassery Campus, Pin-670661, Palayad PO on or before 05th September 2014
