Indian School of Mines announces admissions for 2014 session and has invited applications for the courses as per details given below:

4-Years B.Tech Degree
5-Years Dual Degree Courses
5-Years Integrated Courses
3-Years M.Sc. M. Tech. Degree

Admission Procedure:

Admission in these programmes is made through All India Entrance Examination conducted by ISM

2-Years MBA Programme

3-Years MBA programme for employed candidates as part time course is also offered.
Admission to this programme is through CAT score followed by Group Discussion and Interview.

1-Year M.Phil Programmes:

1-Year M.Phil Programmes are offered in accordance with UGC/AICTE guidelines. Admission to these programmes is through All India Level written test conducted by I.S.M for NET-non qualified candidates. The admission to M.Phil for NET QUALIFIED candidates will be held through counseling and/or interview to be held at ISM. Interview will be conducted if numbers of NET QUALIFIED candidates are more than the number of seats available in each discipline.

Research Programmes:

The I.S.M. awards Ph. D. degree in all existing disciplines, viz., Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities and Management.

The selection of Junior Research Fellow is through an all India examination and interview at I.S.M.

Eligibility For M.Sc/M.Sc. Tech Programmes:

3-Years M.Sc. Tech Applied Geology: B.Sc. Degree (3-year) with Geology as Honours/ Major/ Main/ Equivalent subject and any two subsidiary subjects from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

3-Years M.Sc. Tech Applied Geophysics: B.Sc. Degree (3-year) with Physics as Honours/ Major/ Main/ Equivalent subject, Mathematics as a subsidiary subject for two years/four semesters and another subsidiary subject from Chemistry, Geology, Electronics, Statistics and Computer Science for one year/two semesters.

2-Years M.Sc Applied Physics: B.Sc. Degree (3-year) with Physics as Honours/ Major / Main/ Equivalent subject, Mathematics as a subsidiary subject, or Mathematics as Honours / Major/ Main/ Equivalent subject with Physics as a subsidiary subject and another subsidiary subject from Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, Economics and Geography.

2-Years M.Sc Chemistry: B.Sc. Degree (3-year) with Chemistry as Honours/ Major / Main/ Equivalent subject, Mathematics as a compulsory subsidiary subject, and another subsidiary from Physics, Geology, Zoology and Botany.

2 -Years M.Sc Mathematics and Computing: B.Sc. Degree (3-year) with Mathematics as Honours / Major/ Main/ Equivalent subject and two subsidiary subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Statistics, Electronics and Computer Science.

Eligibility for M.Phill Programmes:

Applied Physics: M.Sc / Integrated M.Sc in Relevant subject from a recognized University

Applied Chemistry: M.Sc. / Integrated M.Sc. in relevant subject from a recognized University

Applied Mathematics: M.Sc. in Mathematics/Statistics/Mathematics and Computing or 5 Yr. Integrated M.Sc. in Mathematics/Statistics/Mathematics and Computing

English: M.A. or equivalent degree in English from a recognized university

Eligibility for Sponsored Candidates in M.Phill Program:

Candidates must have at least two years full time work experience, at the time of application, in a government organization or companies of repute relevant field or in a recognized Academic Institutions.
Application form of the sponsored candidates must be endorsed by the present employer.
Applicants appearing in qualifying examination by June 2014 are also eligible to apply.

If selected, their admission will be provisional and will stand cancel unless results are submitted to Assistant Registrar (Academic), I.S.M., Dhanbad-826004 on or before 30th September 2014.

Applicant, born on or after 1st October, 1990 is eligible for admission. Age limit for SC/ ST/ PD applicant is relaxed by 5 years and that of OBC applicants is relaxed by 3 years.

How to Apply:

Application form can be downloaded from ISM website www.ismdhanbad.ac.in from 14th February, 2014

The application form should be filled up online through ISM website.

After filling up the details on the application form, applicants are required to submit application online and take a print out of the system generated application form.

The candidates are required to send the of the system generated application form, Payment Receipt (Rs 2000/- and Rs 1000/- for SC/ST/PD candidates), Photocopies of all certificates and marks sheets to the office of the Assistant Registrar (Academic), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, Jharkhand-826004

Last date for receipt of application form is 16th April, 2014

The envelope containing the print out of system generated application form and all other relevant documents should be super scribed as “Admission to M.Sc. / M.Sc Tech / M.Phill 2014”.

Admit cards will be available online and printouts of this admit card has to be produced at the time of examination.

IMS will not send separate admit card to the candidate.
