Applications are invited from the candidates of Tamil Nadu for admission to the following Undergraduate Degree Courses of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University for the academic year 2014-15.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

1. Qualifying Examination and Minimum Marks Candidates who are applying for
the undergraduate degree courses should have passed HSC (10+2) / CBSE/ other examinations recognized as equivalent there to with the marks as prescribed.

MODE OF SELECTION

Candidates will be selected strictly based on their performance in the HSC / equivalent examination as per the Government Order

MODE OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Candidates can apply for the courses either online or through manual application.

ONLINE APPLICATION

=> Candidates may fill in and submit applications online at www.tanuvas.ac.in/ugadmission, on or before 02.06.2014, 5.45 p.m.
=> Applications can be submitted online only after the application fees are paid at the Bank (any branch of Union Bank of India in Tamil Nadu), as there is a field in the online application form to fill in the Transaction ID (provided by the Bank after paying the fee).
=> Candidates should ensure that correct amount of application fee is paid at the Bank, using the triplicate challan (available at the Bank branches, Sales Centres and at www.tanuvas.ac.in), as detailed below, before submitting / uploading the application:

=> Candidates may apply for a single course, two courses or all the three courses, through a single application, provided they have paid the application fees accordingly.
=> Applications submitted without paying the application fee(s) at the Bank will be rejected.
=> Candidates should read the Prospectus carefully before filling up and submitting the application. All fields in the application should be correctly and completely filled in.
=> Candidates, while applying online, should have the scanned copies of all the required documents / certificates for uploading, while or after submission of online application.
=> After or while submitting the application online, the candidates will be prompted to submit the required certificates / evidences online. Candidates may submit the scanned certificates online.
=> After online submission, the candidate will receive an SMS and / or eMail that his / her application(s) is(are) submitted successfully, with a user name and password for future use.
=> If, for any reason (for want of more details), the candidate is not able to fill in all the required fields, they may save the application for future use. Upon saving the application, the candidate will be given a user name and password for editing the contents in future and uploading it before the due date.
=> Candidates not receiving the SMSs / eMails even after 24 hours post submission may contact the Admission Committee through email ([email protected]).
=> If the candidates are not able to scan and submit the required documents / certificates online, they may send (by post) the copies of the same along with a copy of the uploaded application to reach the Chairman, Admission Committee (UG), TANUVAS, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai-600 051 on or before 02.06.2014, 5.45 p.m
=> The certificates / evidences include 1). Recent attested passport size photo of the candidate, 2). Attested copy of HSC / CBSE / other equivalent mark sheet, 3). Attested copy of Transfer Certificate, 4). Attested copy of Community Certificate, 5). Attested copies of Certificates for Special categories if required, 6). Attested copy of Nativity Certificate if required and 7). University copy of the Challan for the application fee paid at the bank. Attestation should be obtained from the Head of the Institution where the candidate last studied or Group A / B Officers in all the copies of certificates / documents being submitted.
=> Failing to submit copies of certificates / evidences for the information provided either online or by post
within the specified date will lead to rejection of application.

Important Dates

Applications are required, with necessary Demand Draft (dated not earlier than 11th May 2014)
Manual application forms will be issued on all working days from 12th May 2014 to 31st May 2014 between 10.00 am and 05.00 pm

Tamil Nadu Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (TNVASU), Chennai
The seed for the establishment and growth of TANUVAS was sown as early as 1876, when the Madras Veterinary College was started as an Agricultural School in Chennai to offer diploma and certificate course in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. The institute attained the status of a college in the year 1903 (01.10.1903), when it started functioning at Dobbin Hall, Chennai and admitted 20 students for a three-year diploma course called GMVC (Graduate of Madras Veterinary College).
