Bachelor Degree Admissions 2014 at LBS Centre for Science and Technology (LBSCS &T), Thiruvananthapuram

 

LBS Centre for Science and Technology (LBSCS &T), Thiruvananthapuram notifies admission to Professional Degree Courses 2014 in Nursing, Pharmacy and Para Medical Streams for 2014 intake. Admission to Professional Degree Courses in Nursing, Pharmacy and other Para Medical Streams-2014

Degree Courses:

Bachelor of Science - Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing)
Bachelor of Science - Medical Laboratory Technology B.Sc. (M.L.T)
Bachelor of Science - Perfusion Technology (B.Sc. Perfusion Technology)
Bachelor of Science - Optometry (B.Sc. Optometry)
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T)
Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (B.A.S.L.P)
Bachelor of Cardio Vascular Technology (B.C.V.T)
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm)
Doctor of Pharmacy (D. Pharm)

Admissions to the above courses are regulated on the basis of merit as assessed in the rank list prepared based on the marks obtained in final year of the qualifying examination(s)

Eligibility Criteria

Nativity: Only Indian citizens are eligible for admission to professional courses unless otherwise notified. Holders of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cards/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), will also be treated at par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission. However, PIO/OCI candidates will not be eligible for any kind of reservation

Candidates seeking admission to the courses will be categorized as Keralite and Non-Keralite

i) Keralite: A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a ‘Keralite’. Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala cadre are deemed to be ‘Keralites’ as 11 PDC-2014, DME, TVPM per G.O. (RT) No.822/08/H. Edn dated 29th May,2008. But they will not be eligible for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation

ii) Non-Keralite: A candidate who is not of ‘Kerala origin’ but who has undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who is the son/daughter of the following categories of Non-Keralite parents will be categorized as Non-Keralite:
PG Medical Question Bank Practice CD

a) Employees of the Government of India and defence personnel posted to Kerala

b) Employees, who are serving the Government of Kerala, subject to the condition that the employees have served in the state of Kerala or for the state of Kerala, for a minimum period of two years

Non-Keralite candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats only and will not be eligible for Communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation

Academic Eligibility:

Course wise academic eligibility requirement is as given below

1) B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc, M.L.T. & B.Sc Optometry Courses:

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English put together, are eligible

2) B.Sc Perfusion Technology, B.Sc. M.R.T. and B.C.V.T. Courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible

3) BPT Course:

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. Besides they should have studied English as a subject at 12th standard/Plus Two levels

4) BASLP Course:

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examinations of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or Examinations recognized equivalent thereto with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Electronics/ Psychology put together, are eligible

5) B.Pharm Course:

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology/ Mathematics/Biotechnology/Computer Science separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Mathematics /Biotechnology/ Computer Science put together are eligible. Candidates from National Open School are not eligible to apply for the course

6) Pharm D Course:

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology/ Mathematics separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics put together are eligible; or

A pass in D.Pharm Course with a minimum of 50% marks in D.Pharm examination from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act (20% of the total seats is reserved for candidates with D.Pharm qualification)

Relaxation in Marks:

For all the courses, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (as per G.O. (P) No. 208/66/Edn. dated 2.5.1966, G.O.(MS) No.95/08/SCSTDD dated 06.10.2008 and amendments thereof), with a total annual family income not exceeding Rs. 4.5 lakhs, will have a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination

They need only 45% marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology/Bio Technology/Computer Science and 45% marks in the case of optional subjects put together

The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination

The relaxation of marks in the qualifying examination extended to SEBC candidates only will be applicable to OEC candidates even if they are allotted against the unveiled seats of SC/ST quota

Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st Dec 2014

No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed

The upper age limit for candidates under service quota will be 45 years for B.Sc Nursing and 46 for B.Sc (MLT) as on 31st Dec 2014

How to Apply:

Application for admission to all the courses - B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc (MLT), B.Sc Perfusion Technology, B.Sc (Optometry), BPT, BCVT, BASLP, B.Pharm, and D.Pharm can be registered only online through a single application

Application Fee:

The application fee will be Rs 600/- (for General candidates) and Rs 300/- (for Sc/ST candidates)
Application fee can be remitted at any one of the branches of the Scheduled Bank (to be notified) in Kerala
Candidates who are children of Inter-Caste married couple of which one is SC/ST who will be eligible for educational and monetary benefits admissible to SC/ST of GO (MS) No.25/2005/SCSTDD dated 20th June, 2005 should remit the fee meant for SC/ST and should attach an inter-caste marriage Certificate from the Revenue officials with the print out of the online application form

Remittance of Application Fee and Submission of Application Form:

Except Service candidates:

Application fee can be remitted by all applicants except service candidates at any one of the notified branches of a Scheduled Bank in Kerala, using the challan generated on-line during the process of submission of application form online

Service candidates:

In the case of Service candidates, the application fee should be remitted in any Government Treasury under the head of Account “0210-03-105-99”. After remittance of application fee they should submit the application

Service candidates seeking allotment under Open Quota:

Service quota candidates desirous of being considered for allotment under open quota also can apply for the same after remitting the requisite fee in bank (in addition to the fee remitted in Government Treasury) by following the procedure applicable for open candidates as specified
The application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstances

Availability of Prospectus:

Prospectus can be obtained from any one of the Facilitation Centres of LBS Centre for Science and Technology (see Annexure XI for list of facilitation centres) on production of the candidate copy of the challan returned by the bank on remittance of application fee. Prospectus and all annexure can also be downloaded from www.lbscentre.in However, it will not be available by post or from the Office of the Director of Medical Education or from any Government Medical Colleges or from any other office

Submission of Application Form:

There will be four stages for the submission of Application form and all stages are mandatory. Candidates shall complete all the stages of submission as per the time schedule which will be notified through the website/media

Step-I: Entering candidate details online followed by remittance of application fee at the branch of the scheduled bank (which will be notified later) after taking printout of the challan from the website www.lbscentre.in

Step-II: Confirmation of Personal Data Registration and forwarding of the printout of the application form with supporting documents

Step-III: Forwarding of downloaded academic data sheet duly signed along with attested copies of mark list(s) after the declaration of the result of the qualifying examination. Those who have already passed the qualifying examination also need to send the academic data sheet only in this stage

Step-IV: After publishing the provisional rank list the candidate has to register college/course options during the prescribed time. After declaration of results of the qualifying examination

Service candidates should download the application form the website www.lbscentre.in from the link provided and remit the application fee as described The filled application form along with the challan receipt and attested copies of certificates/documents should be submitted to the “The Director of Medical Education, Office of the Director of Medical Education, Medical college P.O., Thiruvananthapuram-695011” through proper channel to reach on or before the last date prescribed A copy of the same should be forwarded to the “The Director, LBS Centre for Science & Technology, Nandavanam, Palayam, Thiruvananthapuram-695033” also to reach on or before the last date prescribed
