Assam SET 2024 – The State Level Eligibility Test Commission in Assam is inviting applications for the State Eligibility Test (SET), formerly known as the North East State Level Eligibility Test (NE-SLET). This opportunity is open to aspirant candidates from the North Eastern Region interested in securing the position of Assistant Professors at Universities and Colleges in the member States, namely Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Tripura. Important Dates

Candidates interested in applying for Assam SET 2024 should take note of the following important dates:

  • Notification Released: 21st November 2023
  • Start Date for Online Application Submission: 23rd November 2023
  • Last Date for Online Application Submission: 8th January 2024

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring to take the Assam SET 2024 must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates: Minimum 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent
  • SC/ST/PWD/OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates: Minimum 50% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent
  • Candidates awaiting final Master’s degree results may apply provisionally
  • Third Gender category candidates have the same relaxations as SC/ST/PWD candidates
  • Ph.D. degree holders completing Masters by 19th September 1991 eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks
Age LimitThere is no age limit to apply for this test
NationalityCandidates should be Indian Citizens
QualificationApplicants must have completed their 2 years Master’s Degree or equivalent Degree from any Institution/University which is UGC approved
Minimum MarksThe applicants should be passed with at least 55% marks aggregate marks (without rounding up).
RelaxationThere is a relaxation of 5% for Schedules Cast (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Person with Disability (PWD) category candidates.

How To Apply

Follow the step-by-step application process for Assam SET:

  1. Visit https://sletneonline.co.in/ for online registration.
  2. Read the instructions carefully before filling the online application form.
  3. Note down your registration number for future reference.
  4. Download the Challan copy.
  5. Deposit the examination fee in any State Bank of India branch after completing the online application form.
  6. Take a printout of your submitted application form after a few days from the day of deposit for further use.
  7. Admit card will be provided online.
  8. Original mark sheets and certificates will be verified at the time of issuing qualifying certificates.

Assam SET 2024 Test Centres

Assam SET 2024 will be conducted in the following exam centers:

(The particulars of the Coordinators cum Officer-in-charge of the SET Centres with their addresses will be notified in due course. Depending upon the number of candidates, venues within the Centre will be arranged.)

Change of Test Centres: Application for a change of Test centre on plain paper will be received by the SLET Commission office within 7 (working) days of the last date of submission of forms. The centre change fee is Rs. 300/- per candidate.

Syllabus

The Assam SLET syllabus has been released by the SLET Commission, ASSAM (N.E.Region) along with the Assam SLET Notification. The syllabus for Assam SLET is the same as the UGC NET syllabus as per the information brochure published by The SLET Commission, ASSAM (N.E.Region). The Assam SLET offers 25 subjects for Paper-II as specialised subjects for the candidates to choose from. The Paper- I is a generalised question paper designed to test the basic knowledge, understanding and aptitude of the candidates.

Admit Card

The Assam SLET admit card will be issued to the candidates who have successfully submitted a complete Assam SLET application before the deadline. The Assam SLET admit card will be issued approximately 15 days prior to the exam date. The expected date for the Assam SLET admits card is in February. The candidates will be able to download the admit card from the official website. Follow this page for the direct link to download the admit card after further notice.

Result

The date for the Assam SLET Result is yet to be announced. The candidates have to secure the minimum cut-off marks to qualify for the Assam SLET.
