Regional Institute of English (RIE) Chandigarh PGCTE Course Admission 2013

RIE Chandigarh invites applications for admission to the 100th 3-Month Postgraduate Certificate Course in the Teaching of English (PGCTE), a teacher-training course which is going to start from 11th November, 2013 and will be concluding on 10th February, 2013

The campus part of course is from 11th November, 2013 to 24th January, 2014

PGCTE Course (Postgraduate Certificate in the Teaching of English Course): This 3 month In-Service course is for trained graduate/post-graduate teachers of English, working in secondary and senior secondary schools in the northern region
Training is conducted through lectures and tutorials supplemented by intensive practice in Communication Skills and Methods of Teaching English
The course aims at imparting knowledge of the structure of English through Linguistics, Phonetics and Phonology and Contemporary Grammar and Usage of English along with enhancing Computer Skills of the trainees

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate with M.A. (English) or B.Ed (with teaching of English)

Age: Below 55 years for in-service Teachers and below 45 years for Teachers-to-be

Stipend: For Govt. School Teachers Only:-
Rs. 190/- p.m. for participate from Chandigarh by Chandigarh Administration
Rs. 300/- p.m. for participants from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir by Chandigarh Administration
Rs. 2400/- p.m. to all participants from all states under GOI Scheme
Book kit allowance of Rs 1000/- under GDI Scheme
Hostel facilities are available only for Male Government School Teachers
Fee: Rs. 2000/- (Only for private candidates)
Application form: Rs. 50/- at the office counter
Closing Date: 06th November, 2013
Timings: 08.30 A.M. to 03.10 P.M.

On Campus presence for courses: 11th November, 2013 to 24th January, 2014
Off Campus teaching practice in one’s own school or arranged by RIE: 25th January, 2014 to 10th February, 2014
Interview for the private candidates will be held at 09.00 a.m. on 08th November, 2013
