About the Course:

The course is of 39 weeks duration and covers all aspects of Hydro Power Plant Engineering including O&M, Erection, Commissioning, Management, Distribution of Electricity and Tariff
The course profile covers the mandatory requirements under Indian Electricity Amendment Rules, 1981

The course authorizes the Engineer to operate and maintain Hydro Power Plants

Eligibility:

B-Tech/B.E.in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized Engineering College/University with minimum of 60% marks for both Non - sponsored & sponsored candidates. In addition, the candidates sponsored by power sector utilities should have more than one year experience as on 1st July 2013.

Selection Procedure: Merit basis (percentage of marks of qualifying engineering degree)

Age limit: For Non-Sponsored candidates the age limit as on 01st July 2013 is 27 Years.
Age relaxation in case of reserved category candidates is as per Govt. Of India norms.
No age limit or sponsored candidates.

Seats: 40 (forty)

Reservation:

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH is applicable as per Govt norms

Placement:

NPTI maintains close linkages with the Hydro Power utilities for the placement
The students of earlier batches have been placed in reputed companies like JP Associates, MPCL, DSC, DANS, CE Services, Angelique International, HPP Energy, ADHPL etc
Placement assistance will be provided to the students

How to apply:

Prescribed application as per format (i.e. Annexure A ,B & C ) filled with relevant details along with Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/-including Service-Tax,(Non-refundable) in favour of” HPTC, NPTI Nangal ”payable at Naya Nangal (SBI, Branch code-0689), Punjab,should reach to Principal Director, National Power Training Institute HPTC, Nangal ,Distt. Ropar-140124 (Punjab, latest by 01st July 2013 up to 05.00 PM. Envelope containing the application form and other documents should be marked “Application for PGDC (Hydro) – 2013 - 14

Fees:

(1) For Non-sponsored candidates: Rs. 1, 55,000/-+ Service Tax@ 12.36% in two installments (1st installment: Rs.80, 000/-+ Service Tax@ 12.36% at the time of counseling for confirmation of admission & 2nd installment: Rs.75,000/- + Service Tax@ 12.36% on or before 27th Dec 2013).
(2) For sponsored candidates: Rs. 1, 75,000/- + Service Tax@ 12.36% at the time of counseling for confirmation of admission.

There is no fee concession for any category of candidates. The course fee paid is non-refundable.

Lodging/Boarding

: Hostel facility is provided on first come first serve basis, subject to availability on nominal charges

The cost of transportation, boarding/lodging is to be borne by the students during the course and out station visits

Important Dates

Last date of receipt of application: 1st July, 2013
Final merit list will be displayed at Institute and website www.nptinangal.in on 15th July, 2013
Counseling for General/PH/sponsored candidates: 29th July, 2013
Counseling for SC/ST/OBC candidates: 30th July, 2013
Commencement of course: 12th August, 2013
