National Institute of Technology Warangal Entrance Test (NITWET) 2013 for M.Sc Admissions

MASTER OF SCIENCE Admissions to M.Sc programs in Mathematics, Chemistry and M.Sc.(Tech.)-Engineering Physics are done through rank obtained in NITWET, an entrance examination conducted by NIT Warangal.

The following specializations are offered in these programs.

M.Sc.(Mathematics) with specialization in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics & Scientific Computing
M.Sc (Chemistry) with specialization in Dyes , Drugs ,Pharmaceuticals & Pesticides and Modern Methods of Chemical Analysis.
M.Sc.(Tech.) Engineering Physics
The M.Sc. seats are allotted on the basis of the rank obtained in NITWET- 2013.


The following is the category-wise reservations for admission into various programs as per Government of India norms.
Category OBC - Percentage 22.5
Other Minorities Percentage - 4.5
S.C. Percentage - 15
ST Percentage - 7.5
Persons with Disabilities Percentage - 3.0

Mode of Entrance Examination and Duration:

There will be 80 objective questions in each subject and the duration of the examination is 2 hours. 4 marks will be awarded for the correctly answered question and -1 mark will be awarded for the wrongly answered question.

Application fee :

1. Application fee is Rs.800/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates) for each subject.
2. Separate applications are to be submitted for admission to different departments (however only one application is sufficient for different specializations offered by a Department). Applications are to be submitted along with photocopies of necessary certificates and with Demand Draft for Rs.800/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates) towards the application Fees. D.D. must be drawn in favour of Director NIT Warangal payable at S.B.H, NIT Warangal Branch (Code No. 20149) or SBI, Battala Bazar Branch, Warangal.
3. Name and address of the candidate should be written on the reverse of the Demand Draft.

Important Information :

1. Candidates awaiting the results of the final semester/year may also apply. But they should submit the final marks list before the date given by the Institute in case they are selected.
2. Candidates should apply for NITWET-2013 through ‘Online’ only.

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal
National Institute of Technology, Warangal (Deemed University), formerly known as Regional Engineering College, was established in 1959. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation stone for this institute on October 10, 1959, the first in the chain of 18 NITs (formerly known as RECs) in the country. The Institute is well known for its dedicated faculty and staff, state-of-the-art infrastructure and excellent placement. As a NIT, it is in the processes of improving its standards to the level of a global technical institute. The curriculum has already been changed following the IIT pattern.
