Eligibility Criteria

Ph.D programme shall be open to candidates who passed the prescribed qualifying examination taken together or 6.75 CG PA (on a 10 point in scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination In cases, CGPA on a different scale is awarded Or if only grades awarded, percentage/CGPA equivalence provided by the principle examination
However, this prescribed minimum shall be a CGPA of 6.0 or 55% marks in the aggregate for SC/ST candidates
For admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering/Architecture/Planning, Universities/ Institute in India require the candidate to have completed 12 years of schooling (equivalent to 10+2 system of India Education) Candidate should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) in 11th and 12th, as application in the respective boards
The following qualifications are considered equivalent to 10+2 system of Indian Education
12 years Baccalaureate Certificate of Afghanistan, France, Iraq and Tunisia

GCE/IGCSE/GCSE examination of the approved British Examination Bodies, with minimum 5 (Five) subjects in A, B, C, Grades including English at ORDINARY (‘O’) Level and 2/3 subjects at ADVANCED LEEL has been equated with +2 stage qualification

Candidates intending to join Professional courses are required to have passed the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics in ADVANCED LEVEL and English at AS LEVEL

High School Diploma a from accredited School of USA

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates for admission to Ph.D programme will be based upon the academic performance in the qualifying examinations, written aptitude test, presentation on a research topic and interview as specified by the concerned departments

Age

Only candidates born on or after October 01, 1988 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities only will be taken as authentic

Submission of Application

The submission of application is a two stage process, both of which are essential
Online application (www.dasanit.org) and submission of signed print copy of the application along with required documents and payment details to DASA Office, NITK Surathkal
SAT subject test score to be sent to NITK Surathkal through College Board, USA (Institute Code 6530)

Preparation of Merit List

A merit list of all the eligible candidates would be drawn on the basis of total SAT Subject Test scores only
Only those candidates, whose valid SAT Subject Test scores have been received by NITK, Surathkal, on or before ay 29, 2013 directly from College Board, will be considered for merit list preparation and seat allotment. If the SAT Subject Test scores (total) of two or more candidates are same, the inter se merit of such candidate shall be determined as follows By marks obtained in SAT Subject Test Maths Level 2 and then Physics and then by percentile obtained in Maths level 2, Physics and Chemistry in that order
