NIT Calicut MBA Admission – National Institute of Technology (NIT), Calicut, is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admissions to the two-year full-time MBA program offered by the Department of Management Studies (DMS) under Regular-CAT/Industry-Sponsored for the academic session 2024-26.

The National Institute of Technology Calicut, formerly known as Regional Engineering College Calicut, is a public technical university and an institute of national importance governed by the NIT Act passed by the Parliament of India. NIT Calicut is recognized as one of the top-ranked architecture institutes in India. According to NIRF 2023 rankings, the institute has been ranked 2nd in the ‘Architecture’ category, 23rd in the ‘Engineering’ category, and 75th in the ‘Management’ category. Additionally, the institute has received recognition from various international organizations as well.

Eligibility Criteria
MBA (Regular-CAT):
Prospective candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (or CGPA 6.0/10) for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL and 55% marks (or CGPA 5.5/10) for SC/ST/PwD. Additionally, they should possess a valid Common Admission Test (CAT) score conducted by IIMs in 2023.
MBA (Industry Sponsored):
Prospective candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks (or CGPA 6.0/10) for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC and 55% marks (or CGPA 5.5/10) for SC/ST/PwD. Furthermore, a minimum of 2 years of continuous industrial/research experience in relevant organizations is mandatory at the time of submitting the application for candidates seeking admissions under the industry-sponsored category.
Sponsored Candidates:
Candidates sponsored by their employers to pursue an MBA at NIT Calicut should submit their applications through proper channels. Applicants with a valid score in national-level entrance tests such as CAT/CMAT or equivalent would be given preference. Selection of students is based on their performance in a Personal Interview.
Intake:
The total intake of regular students for the year 2024 would be 75. The intake for Sponsored candidates for the year 2024 is five.
Reservation:
Reservation of seats for different castes, tribes, and other categories shall be as per the directives from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
Application Fee
- For Open/OBC/EWS/PwD Candidates – Rs.1000/-
- For SC/ST Candidates – Rs. 500/-
- Mode of Payment – Online Through Net Banking/Credit card//SBI Challan (by cash).
How to Apply
Here are the steps to submit the application online through the Institute website www.nitc.ac.in:
- Pay the registration fee:
- Payment has to be made through State Bank Collect (online) using the following link: State Bank Collect
- Choose the payment category as “MBA(Regular /Industry/Self Sponsor) Appn fee”
- After successful completion of the fee payment, save the fee payment receipt for uploading along with the application form.
- The application fee is Rs. 1000/- for OPEN/OBC/EWS/PwD candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates. The application fee is Non-refundable.
- Apply online using the following link: Online Application Portal
- Register with your e-mail id and mobile number to create a login in the online portal.
- Upload colored scan copy of the following documents in the portal:
- Mark sheet of Class X
- Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms.
- Mark sheet of Class XII (The candidates who have appeared for improvement has to upload both the original and the improvement mark sheets)
- Grade/Mark sheets of qualifying examination for all semesters (Mark sheets of all semesters/ years need to be combined to a single pdf for uploading/ Consolidated Grade (Mark) sheet with all subjects mentioned in it).
- Degree/ Provisional certificate. If the result of qualifying degree is awaited, a certificate of course completion from the institute/university last studied must be provided clearly indicating the date of completion of the course.
- Degree Certificates of PG/PG Diploma/ Diploma, if any.
- Certificates of work experience (if a candidate possesses experience for more than one year).
- Certificates of academic and extracurricular achievements, if applicable
- Copy of CAT admit card and CAT score card.
Make sure to complete all the steps accurately and submit the required documents within the specified deadlines.
Selection Process
- The selection will be based on scores obtained in CAT and performance in the group discussion / personal interviews. Credits will be accounted for work experience, scores of Graduation, PG/ PG Diploma, 10th and 12th Class etc.
- Communication regarding the center of interview would be sent separately. Interviews were conducted previously in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, apart from Calicut.
