Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D):

Major research areas include foundry, forge, manufacturing, engineering, materials, science, metallurgical engineering, ceramics, environmental science and engineering, computational materials engineering, Nanomaterials, thin films, pure and applied sciences

Master of Technology (M.Tech) 4 semesters/24 months:

Foundry-Forge Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials science and Engineering, Environmental Engineering

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) 8 semesters/4 years:

CBSE Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgy and Materials Engineering

Advanced Diploma Course (ADC-3 semesters/18 months):

Foundry Technology, Forge Technology

Admission to Ph D and ADC Courses:

The details of eligibility criteria for different programmes, scholarships and application and selection procedures are given in the institute website www.nifft.ernet.in
Those appearing in the final examination may also apply
Such candidates will have to produce all the relevant documents within 60 days from the date of admission, failing which his/her admission will be cancelled
Few seats are available for sponsored candidates in ADC and M.Tech
M.Tech candidates may also be admitted under self-supporting mode
The institute will not be responsible for any postal delay/loss
Candidates desirous of applying for more than one M.Tech programme (or in more than one Department for Ph.D) should apply separately with requisite application fee for each programme/department

The institute reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reasons therein

Issue of applications: 24th April, 2013 to 31st May, 2013
Last date for receipt of completed applications: 07th June, 2013, 05.00 p.m
Date of written test for ADC: 08th July, 2013, Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.

About NIFFT: In consonance with the general guidelines of UNESCO (1962) regarding establishment of specialized institutes, National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) was created in 1966 under the UNDP program to cater to the need of a large number of technicians. The particular emphasis was on Foundry and Forge technology to meet the demand of trained manpower in the primary metal manufacturing sectors like automobile, heavy engineering, machine and component manufacturing etc. Two carefully designed advanced diploma courses, namely Foundry and Forge technology were offered.
