Essential Qualification:

* Candidates should have passed the M.Sc. (any branch of science), M.Tech. M.Pharm. M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification with minimum 60% marks (or equivalent grade point)
* Should have qualified in CSIR/UGC-JRF or ICMR-JRF or DBT-JRF or DST-INSPIRE
* Candidates who have qualified only for lecturership in CSIR/UGC or GATE (97% or above) or GPAT (97 percentile or above) are also eligible to apply
* They should have qualified in these examinations no earlier than June 2012
* Candidates who meet eligibility criteria and expecting the Masters final results by 1st October 2013 are also eligible to apply, provided they have minimum 60% mark in other semesters
* The upper age limit of the candidate should be 28 years as of 1st July 2013

Age:

Age relaxation will be given for five years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/women/PH and three years in case of OBC (as approved by Govt. of India) candidates

Application Form:

Interested and eligible candidates may download application form from ILS website
www.ils.res.in and apply with self-attested copies of all relevant certificates to the Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Nalco Square, Bhubaneswar-751023. All application should reach the Institute on or before the last date

The envelope should be superscibed with “Application for Ph.D. Programme, 2013”
Short-listed candidates selected for entrance examination will be published in the Institute website www.ils.res.in

To and fro rail fare by the shortest route limited to second sleeper class will be paid to all the candidates called for interview

Hostel accommodation will be available for selected candidates

Application Fees:

Applicants except SC/ST candidates are required to send a non-refundable demand draft for Rs.500/- in favour of “Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar” payable at Bhubaneswar along with duly filled-in application form by the date mentioned below
Director, ILS reserves the right to withdraw the procedure without assigning any reasons thereof

Date of display of short-listed candidates for entrance examination in the Institute website: 8th July, 2013
Date of entrance examination: 11th August, 2013
Display of entrance examination result in ILS website & notice board: 11th August, 2013 (evening)
Date of Interview: 12th August, 2013 to 13th August, 2013 and 14th August, 2013

Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) was established in the year 1989 as an autonomous institute under the administrative control of Govt. of Odisha. In 2002, it was taken over by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. The Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee dedicated the institute to the nation in July 2003.
