Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal Ph.D Admission Notice 2014

The Institute invites applications from post graduate candidates for admission to the Ph.D programme in Biological Sciences starting from January, 2014.

Eligibility:

* Candidates shall be eligible for registration in an ongoing programme of research in IBSD leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), if he/she has obtained 55% marks in aggregate (B or B+ only in the 10 point scale) in the master’s degree examination in the above mentioned subject areas (i.e Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Plant Sciences, Chemistry, Organic, Chemistry, Natural product chemistry, Zoology, Animal Sciences, Fish and Fishery sciences, Physiology and any other relevant branches)
* A candidate belonging to SC/ST who has obtained 50% marks in aggregate in master degree examination shall be eligible for registration
* CSIR-UGC NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/ICAR-JRF qualified candidates are preferred
* NET/SLET/SET qualified candidates may also apply
* GATE qualified candidates with high percentile (90 or above) may also apply
* NET/SLET/GATE qualified candidates have to appear for the Ph.D entrance test of the concerned University for their registration, if they are selected

Selection Procedure:

* If number of CSIR-UGC NET/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/ICAR-JRF qualified applicants is more than the available Ph.D positions, selection will be based on only interview with the JRF qualified candidates only
* Selected candidates will be informed to join the Ph.D programme of IBSD within a week time from the date of announcement of result
* Candidates are requested to refer to the Institutes website www.ibsd.gov.in for application form and Ph.D notifications

Application Procedure:

* Application should be typed on A4-size plain paper in the prescribed format
* Applications sent by e-mail with scan copy of required enclosures will also be accepted and such application should be sent to [email protected]
* Candidates should clearly mention the name of the programmes for which they are applying on the envelop
* In a single application form candidates may apply in different programmes
* Each page of the typed application form should be signed by the candidate
* No application fee will be charged by the Institute
* Applications should be accompanied by attested copies of certificates and mark sheets mentioning the division obtained
* Two recent passport size photographs should be enclosed
* One of these should be signed by the candidate and pasted on the application form
* A self addressed stamped (Rs 10/-) envelop of 10cmx22cm should be enclosed
* The candidates must provide their mobile number and correct email address as most of the correspondence will be done by these media due to shortage of time
* Incomplete applications and those received after the closing date will not be entertained
* Hard copy of the duly filled applications should be sent to “The Director (i/c), Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Takyelpat”, Imphal-795001 so as to reach on before 04th January, 2014
* The candidates must provide their mobile number and correct email address as most of the correspondence will be done by these media due to shortage of time
* Incomplete applications and those received after the closing date will not be entrained
* The decisions of the admission committee will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entrained in this regard
