Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology BTech Admission 2013


The Indian Institute of space science and technology (IIST), an autonomous body under Department of Space was formed in 2007. IIST was set up with the primary objective of generating high quality human resources to meet the requirements of DOS/ISRO IIST presently functions from a 100 acre campus at Valiamala, located about 20 Km from Thiruvananthapuram city

B.Tech - Avionics

Avionics programme covers courses in Electronics Electrical Engineering that includes Control system, Digital Electronics, VLSI, MEMS design, Communication and Computer systems with thrust on aerospace vehicle and satellite system, flight navigation systems, satellite communication, microwave and antenna engineering

Procedure for Admission: Admission to Undergraduate Programmes (B.Tech) for the year 2013 will be based on the All India Rank List (including category rank list) The rank list for admission to IIST will be based on 60 % weightage of score in the Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) - 2013 conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and 40 % of normalized score in Class 12th or other qualifying examinations

Scheduled Castes (SC): 15%
Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%
Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL): 27%


: The full assistantship per semester for tuition fees, hostel accommodation and boarding, etc. shall be borne by IIST for every student, subject to performance standards set by IIST
Placement: On successful completion of the Under Graduate Programme in IIST, students meeting specified academic standards of IIST will be absorbed in DOS/ISRO as Scientists / Engineers

Online registration of application closes: 10th July, 2013 (11.30 p.m.)
Last date of remitting registration fee: 12th July, 2013
Last date of entering payment details by the candidate in the online application portal: 15th July, 2013
Last date up loading the scanned image (PDG/JPEG) of the institute copy of challan or last date of receipt of institute copy challan at IIST by speed post: 15th July, 2013
For NRI Candidates: last date of receipt of demand draft and institute copy of the NRI payment form at IIST by Post: 15th July, 2013
Date of publishing admission rank list: 19th July, 2013
Announcement of date and venues for counselling and seat allotment: 19th July, 2013
