Application Procedure:

Candidates are requested to use the following link to fill and submit the application form online
For December 2013 admission, the online link will remain active till 25th November, 2013 The summary sheet, final submitted application, demand draft and a copy of GATE/UGC/CSIR score card should reach us by 29th November, 2013

Candidates are requested to send online generated summary sheet and final submitted application duly signed along with the processing fee of Rs.300/- for General/ OBC candidates and Rs.150/- for SC/ST/PD candidates in the form of demand draft drawn from a nationalized bank in favour of "Director, IIT Jodhpur" payable at Jodhpur to the following address Convener-Ph.D Admissions, Centre of Excellence in _ (write the name of CoE in which admission to Ph.D is sought), Application Number _ Indian Institute of Technology, Rajasthan, Old Residency Road, Ratanada, Jodhpur-342011, Rajasthan

Minimum Educational Qualification requirement for;

Ph.D. (Engineering): M.Tech./ME/M. Sc. (Engg.) degree or equivalent B.Tech/BE/M. Sc. degree with a valid GATE score

Ph.D. (Sciences and HSS): M.Sc./M.A. Degree in respective or equivalent area with a valid GATE/UGC/CSIR score

Part-time/Sponsored Category Candidates: Three years of relevant experience is needed for those with M. Tech degree and five years of relevant experience is needed for those with B. Tech or M. Sc. degree
This category is only for those who are working in research labs or in similar institutions
Please note that no financial assistance will be provided under this category

Financial Assistance:
Financial Assistance in the form of assistantship/ scholarship/ fellowship for a specified duration will be provided to eligible Ph.D. students (Full Time) as per the Institute norms or as per the funding agency norms (UGC/CSIR /DBT/ NBHM/INSPIRE) of the assistantship

Reservation Policy:
The MHRD, Govt. of India norms is applicable

Ph.D students will carry out research only in the theme areas/research proposals of the admitted centre of excellence for their doctoral dissertations irrespective of their basic disciplines/ specialization in the qualifying degree

An interdisciplinary doctoral committee shall be formed for each Ph.D student to advise and guide the student to carry out his/her research work

The convener of the committee shall perform the role of primary advisor of the programme

Each Ph.D student needs to successfully complete a set of prescribed courses (as recommended by the doctoral committee) followed by a comprehensive examination and state-of-the art seminar within first two or three semesters from his/her date of registration of the programme

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jodhpur
IIT Rajasthan is one among the new set of IITs announced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The location of the IIT in Rajasthan will be announced by the Govt. of India after completion of the formalities of land acquisition for setting up the new IIT in Rajasthan. However, in the meantime, IIT Kanpur has been designated as the mentor IIT for looking after the incubation activities of the new IIT in Rajasthan. The academic session in IIT Rajasthan will commence from August 2008. To start with, a 4-year B.Tech.
