Himachal Pradesh University Entrance Test for BAMS/BHMS COURSES Admission

An MCQ type entrance test for admission to BAMS Course in Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Post-Graduate Ayurvedic College, Paprola, Distt. Kangra, HP and BHMS Course in Solan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital Solan (Private), HP will be held on 23-6-2013(Sunday) at Shimla and Dharamshala Examination Centres.

Number of Seats:

i) In BAMS Course, 41 seats out of total 50 seats will be filled up from eligible Bonafide Himachali Candidates under Group–1. Two seats are reserved for Govt. of India Nominees (Allocated to the state of J & K) under Group-II. Out of Remaining seven seats under Group - III, one seat shall be reserved for Malaysian Nationals and one for ICCR sponsored candidate. Remaining five seats under Group-III shall be filled up on All India Basis in which Bonafide Himachali who have applied under Group-I shall also be considered.

ii) In BHMS Course, 47 seats out of total 75 seats will be filled up under State Quota and be remaining 28 seats under Management Quota Seats.

Educational Qualification for BAMS Course: The candidates should have passed 10+2 from H.P.Board of School Education or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board /University established by law in India with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC) and must have passed English as an elective subject. Provided further that GOI Nominees, for 2 seats in BAMS Course should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects securing minimum 55% marks. Educational Qualification For BHMS Course The candidates, should have passed 10+2 from
H.P.Board of School Education or its equivalent examination from any recognized board/University with Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English as Elective Subjects.


The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination and whose results are still awaited can also apply but their candidature will be provisional and subject to fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria by the time of Counselling.

Age: The candidate should have attained the age of 17 years and must not have completed 25 years of age as on 31st December of examination year.

For BHMS, the candidate must have attained the age of 17 years on 31st December of examination year.


(i)AT Counter:The prescribed application form-cum-prospectus can be obtained from the University Examination Enquiry-cum-Sale Counter No.1, Library Building (Basement) Summer Hill,Shimla-5 from 25.04.2013 to 30.05.2013 during working hours on payment of Rs.750/- for SC/ST categories of H.P and Rs.1500/- for General & other categories.
(ii)By Post: The request for obtaining the prospectus by post can only be addressed to the Deputy Registrar(Entrance Tests), R.No.10 (Ground Floor), H.P. University, Shimla-171005 accompanied by crossed IPOs/Bank Draft amounting to Rs 850/-for SC/ST categories of HP and Rs.1600/- for General & other categories drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, H.P. University, Shimla-5. Such request can be entertained up to 16.5.2013. The requests must be sent in the envelop super scribed in bold letters “Request for BAMS /BHMS Prospectus-2013 ” and also mention complete mailing address in CAPITAL LETTERS along with the telephone/ Mobile number.


It will be the entire responsibility of the candidates to procure the prospectus-cum-application form and submit the Application Form by the stipulated date. The University will not be responsible for postal delay, non-receipt of prospectus by post or misplacement or loss of prospectus/ Application Form in the transit.

The Application Forms complete in all respect and duly placed in the prescribed envelope should reach in the office of Deputy/Assistant Registrar(Entrance Tests), Room No.10, Ground Floor, Administrative Block, H.P. University, Shimla-171005
All disputes are subject to legal jurisdiction of courts in Shimla only.
