GKCIET Entrance Test-2013
Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology (GKCIET), Malda, West Bengal was estd in February 2010
Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India in the memory of Late (Sri) Ghani Khan Choudhury who had contributed immensely to societal development of the region
The study programme includes various courses at certificate and diploma level in, engineering and technology
There will be vertical mobility of 50% of the sanctioned strength in each certificate programme to diploma programme and from diploma programme to degree programme
B. Tech Degree Programme is proposed to be started from: 2014-2015 Session
Certificate Programme: West Bengal State 75 %, other states and UT 25%
Diploma Programme (direct entry seats): West Bengal state 50 %, other states & UT 50%
As per Govt of India norms
* The minimum qualification for admission to the certificate programme is Matric pass (Pass in English, Mathematics and Science is compulsory) from a State Secondary Education Board/CBSE/ICSE/National open school or equivalent
* Appearing candidates may also apply; they must have to produce their pass certificate at the time of admission.
* Diploma programme seats 2013-2014 Session: The minimum qualification for admission to the diploma programmes is class10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized Board/University
* Minimum Marks in the qualifying examination is 50%, 45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories
Application form for online submission will be available on Institute website: www.gkciet.in from 29th April, 2013 to 13th May, 2013 upto 02:00 pm.
Before online submission of the application form, candidate has to deposit the application fee of
Rs.500/- (For SC/ST candidates Rs.300/-)
A print out of the admit card and the institute copy of the bank challan receipt are to be produced at the examination centre without which candidates will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
Date of entrance test: To be held on 26th May, 2013 for Certificate Programme (10.00 a.m. to 12.30 hrs.)
Diploma Programme: (14.00 to 16.30 hrs) at 07 (seven) centers, namely Malda, (West Bengal), Kolkata, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati and Patna.
Result date of admission and commencement of the course will be published on the institute
