St. Xavier’s College, Jaipur
St. Francis Xavier College, whose name the college bears, was a 16th century Spanish Jesuit saint who preached the good news of Jesus Christ along the coastline of India and in other Asian countries. Though he died in 1552, at the age of 44, on the island of Sancian at the threshold of China, his immortal spirit, the spirit of a saint and of a scholar, continues to inspire his spiritual brothers, the Jesuits. The numerous institutions bearing his name are attempts to amplify and carry on his legacy. They continue to do the work that St. Xavier wanted to do to promote human fulfilment by means of training and education in India.
