Event Description

The third edition of the National Conference cum Workshop on RECENT ADVANCES IN TRAFFIC ENGINEERING (RATE 18) will be organized at SVNIT Surat. The Conference, aims To bring together engineers, academicians, researchers and other professionals having interest in the field of Traffic and Transportation Engineering providing an excellent platform to exchange their experiences. Post Graduate Section of Transportation Engineering & Planning, Civil Engineering Department, SVNIT, Surat and CSIR – CRRI extend a hearty invitation to the delegates. The Conference has technical support from TEQIP-III and Transportation Research Group of India (TRG).

Conference Objectives

Rapid urbanization and improved socio-economic status witnessed during the past few decades have resulted in high vehicular growth in Indian cities. The problem becomes more acute due to mixed traffic behavior on urban streets of Indian cities as cars, motor cycles / scooters, buses, auto rickshaws share the same street space with that of pedestrian, bicycles, cycle rickshaws creating inefficient mobility conditions. Considering the above traffic scenario, application of advanced traffic data collection techniques as well as management solutions is being explored to understand the roadway elements. The conference would aim to address such emerging technologies and thus help in enhancing potential.
