About Events

Sankalan 2015 is an Annual technical fest hosted by DUCS.

Technical Events-

1. Algoholics: This event is aimed at testing the proficiency of participants in algorithms. Teams qualifying for the mains will be given algorithmic problems to be solved overnight.

2. BrainSpark: Participating teams must survive a set of aptitude, reasoning and logical questions to enter the final round to face more brain-racking puzzles.

3. Chakravyuh: This is an online treasure hunt event. At each level, a question will be posed and hints may be given. A participant must answer correctly to advance to the next level.

4. CiPheromone: In this event, participants will be tested for their acumen in cryptscience. Participating teams must race through a number of rounds to unlock the final challenge.

5. Code-a-thon: In this coding event, teams will be given a multi-modular project to develop in a span of 5 hours. Points would be awarded for the functionality, robustness, design and usability of the program.

6. Debug++: This event is a debugging challenge. Teams will be tested for their dexterity in spotting and fixing bugs in the source code provided.

7. Java Juggling: This event focuses on Java programming. Participating teams will be required to prove their coding expertise in the language.

8. MakeApp: This is a mobile app development event. Participating teams will be marked on the design, functionality, features and usability of their app.

9. Mind Matters: This is a technical quizzing event. The participants will be quizzed on their knowledge and awareness in different IT fields.

10.Select * From Brain: In this event, DBMS and RDBMS concepts will be the primary key to advance through the prelims. In the final round, teams will be required to query a given database.

11.Spin-a-Web: This is a website development event. Participating teams will have to design a website for a given problem statement in a span of 4 hours.

12.TechnoSpeak: This is a paper presentation event for those who have the mettle to bring a wave of change in IT (or related) field. Participants will be required to give a presentation on the research paper submitted and their contribution towards it.

13.TeXpert: This event comprises of a question-answer session that tests the technical proficiency of the participating teams in different fields of computer science.

14.Third Dimension: This is a 3D poster making event. Participants get an opportunity to unleash their creativity on the digital canvas, using a digital palette, with a digital touch.

Non-Technical Events-

1. Just-A-Minute: This event comprises of multiple simple and fun-filled games to be played in a minute.

2. LAN Gaming: This event puts your gaming skills on test for the LAN Games - NFS and Counter Strike.

3. Turncoat: This is a fun event for those who think they can cleverly switch sides, for and against a topic. Debatable topics will be given to the participants to speak on.
