Oberoi- Systematic Training and Education Programme (STEP) is a three-year programme, which offers practical training to qualifying candidates at their assigned hotels of The Oberoi Group. Selected candidates have to pay no course fee for the programme. Under the STEP programme, two programmes namely “The Hotel Operations Programme” and “The Kitchen Operations Programme” are covered which aims at training candidates in core operational departments of a hotel. On successful completion of the programme, candidates will be awarded a Bachelor of Tourism Studies (BTS) degree from IGNOU and will also receive a “Certificate of Proficiency” from The Oberoi Group.
Oberoi STEP Eligibility:
=> Candidates should fall in the age bracket of 19-20 years.
=> Candidates should have passed intermediate or equivalent examination without any grace marks in any of the studied subjects.
Oberoi STEP Application Form: Application Form of Oberoi-STEP shall be available in only “online” mode. Candidate is required to fill-in all the asked details and submit the completed application form in online mode only. The availability of online application forms will remain open from February to March. Candidates have to bring the print out of completed Oberoi STEP Application Form on the assigned date of selection process.
Oberoi STEP Selection Process: to qualify for STEP programme, candidates have to face three rounds of selection process.
Round 1: group of nearly 15-20 candidates will have to go through a round of activities and questionnaires. During the process, the evaluator will scale grooming, poise and spoken English ability of the candidates.
Round 2: selected candidates from Round 1 will move to next round of activities on the same day including a one-on-one meeting with a panel comprising of faculty. This round basically aims at evaluating candidates’ aptitude for hospitality.
Round 3: selected candidates from Round 3 will sail for another round of activities and questionnaires including a final interview with a panel. This may be on a different day and city than the above two rounds.
