The entrance examination is conducted every year by the University for Admission into Bachelor of Architecture (five-year course), B. Arch (six-year part time degree course), and Bachelor of Planning (four-year program) as well as related courses, which are offered by the department and colleges affiliated to it.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. All the candidates who wish to give the exam should be above 16 years of age on the date of commencement of the admissions and there is no upper limit for appearing for the exams.
  2. The candidates should ensure that they have cleared 10+2 HSC Board Examination which is conducted by the board of intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh or related Vocational course conducted by the board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh along with bridge courses conducted by it or any equivalent examination.
  3. The candidate should secure minimum of 50% marks aggregate with Mathematics and English as core subjects. The candidate needs to clear 3 years diploma (10+3) in Engineering/Architecture conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training Andhra Pradesh or its equivalent and should secure not less than 50%marks aggregate with Mathematics and English as subjects of examination.

How to Apply

Aspiring can apply for JNTU PACET by obtaining the application form along with the enclosures including the “Instruction Booklet for admission to engineering courses in JNTU in any of the following ways:

For Architecture or for Planning in person on payment School of Planning and Architecture JNTU, Mahaveer Marg, Masab Tank, Hyderabad; Dept. of Architecture, Andhra University, Vishakapatanam; JNTU College of Engineering, Anantapur; Govt. Polytechnic, Vijayawada. Or

By post by paying a demand draft in favour of Secretary, APSCHE giving clear address to which the application form is to be posted.

Important: Candidate shall submit only one application for taking test either for architecture/planning or both the tests. If any candidate submits more than one application the Convener reserves the right to reject all the applications or accept any one of them only.

Exam Pattern

The examination for B.Arch will consist of two tests namely drawing and aesthetics both of 2 hrs carrying 100 marks each. The examination of B.Planning consisting of one test of 2 hrs carrying 100 marks each.

For Architect

JNTU PACET test Test 1 (Drawing) will consists of question to test

1. Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner.
2. Visualizing and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on the surroundings.
3. Sense of perspective drawing
4. Combining and composing given 3D elements to form a building or structural form.
5. Creating interest 2D composition using given shapes or forms
Creating visual harmony using colors in given composition.
 7.   Understanding of scale and sense of proportion.
 8.  Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences.

JNTU PACET test Test 2 (Asthetics) will consists of questions to test

  • Visualizing 3D objects from 2D drawings
  • Visualizing different sides of 3D object
  • Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textual qualities
  • Analytical reasoning
  • Mental ability
  • Imaginative comprehension and expression
  • Architectural awareness
  • For Planning

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.
