FMGE December 2023 will be held on 20 Jan 2024 by NBEMS.
The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a National level Medical exam organized by the National Board Of Examinations In Medical Sciences (NBEMS). It is a screening test that assesses the knowledge and understanding of medical graduates who have obtained their qualifications from medical institutions outside India. The examination aims to ensure that foreign medical graduates possess the necessary competencies to practice medicine in India.
FMGE
Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in India. This is a screening test – Any Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council has to compulsorily qualify this exam.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for FMGE, candidates must fulfill certain criteria, which include:
- Having a primary medical qualification (MBBS) from a recognized foreign institution.

Application Process
The application process for FMGE generally involves the following steps:

Exam Pattern
The exam pattern is as follows
- Mode of Exam – The exam is a Computer Based Test.
- Question type – The questions are Multiple choice questions.
- Number of Questions – There are 300 questions in the entrance exam.
- Total Marks – Maximum marks in the exam is 300.
- Exam Duration – The entrance exam is of 300 minutes (split into 2 papers).
- Language of Question Paper – The question paper is in language English.
Marking Scheme –
- Candidates get +1 marks for correct answer.
- And negative marks is 0 for incorrect answers
FMGE is divided into two parts of 150 questions each with a time allocation of 150 minutes for each part. There is a scheduled break between the two parts.

State Medical Council Registration
