Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, previously known as Indore University is a State University of Madhya Pradesh, established in 1964 in Indore. Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya was ranked in the 151–200 band among universities by 2018 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

Level: DET DAVV is the University level Entrance Test for doctoral programmes, conducted once a year.

Latest News: From 2018, DAVV has separated the M.Phil. Entrance Exam from DET exam. Thus, now DAVV Doctoral Entrance Test is only for seeking admission for Doctor of Philosophy and not for both M.Phil. and Ph.D.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate’s application might be rejected at any time during the process of admission if the candidate is found to be ineligible for the examination. Before appearing for any exam, candidates need to be well versed with eligibility criteria scenario such that any important events related with eligibility criteria should not be missed out at any circumstances. Applicants must go through the DAVV DET 2023 Eligibility Criteria before filling the application form.

  • Education: A candidate for the degree of Ph.D. must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with at least 55% Marks [50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Differently-Abled] from a deemed university or other university incorporated by the law and recognized by the University.
  • Final Year Students: The candidates appearing in the final semester/year examination may also apply but they have to submit their final result as per above-mentioned percentage before submission of the application for registration in Ph.D.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to apply for DAVV DET 2023.
  • Domicile: To apply for a course under Domicile quota, you should submit the Madhya Pradesh state Domicile Certificate along with the relevant category certificate from a competent authority.
  • You should note that the seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC category will only be offered to the SC/ST/OBC candidates of Madhya Pradesh domicile. SC/ ST/OBC/other reserved categories candidates from other states will be treated as the unreserved category.

Application Process

DAVV DET 2023 application form will be released on the official website soon after DAVV Ph.D entrance exam 2023 notification is released.

Website: Go to the DAVV MPonline website and follow the link – “PH.D. ADMISSION-2019”. Then select the available link “APPLY FOR ADMISSION IN PH.D.”.

Registration Fee: Candidates will have to pay the registration fee of INR 1000 (for all candidates) while filling DAVV Ph.D entrance exam form 2023. In addition to the application fee, Rs. 50/- will also be charged as Online Service Charges.

Payment Mode: The Application Fee can be paid through both online and offline mode. Online mode through MPOnline authorized KIOSK in MP or through any ATM cum Debit Card/ Credit Card or Net Banking from anywhere.

Subjects

Candidates can opt for Ph.D. in 43 subjects at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV).

They will be permitted to work for a Ph.D. degree in the subject in which they have obtained their Master’s degree. However, research work leading to a Ph.D. degree in an allied subject of interdisciplinary nature of the same faculty or of allied faculties may be allowed. In such instances, candidates will be permitted to work under one or two co-supervisors along with the supervisor.

Admit Card

DAVV DET 2023 admit cards will be released on the official website for the candidates who submit their application form on time. DAVV will also release the list of eligible students with the roll number, test centre and other details in the list.

ID Proof: Along with DAVV DET 2023 admit card, candidates must carry any one of the government issued ID proof such as Passport, Voter Id, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Pan Card.

Instructions: Candidates are advised to read the instructions given on the admit card carefully, and follow them during the conduct of the examination.

Exam Pattern

To score better in an examination, candidates are highly advised to check the DAVV DET 2023 exam pattern while preparing for the same. Applicants can have look at the exam pattern which is listed below.

Mode: DAVV DET 2023 will be conducted Offline, as a Paper and Pen-Based Test (PBT).

Question Type: The question paper will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

No. of Questions & Marks: DAVV DET 2023 question paper will consist of 4 parts, 25 questions in each section, with a total of 100 marks.

Duration: The time given to complete the examination will be 2 hours or 120 minutes.

Marking Scheme: One mark will be awarded for every correct answer and no negative marking.

Medium: The question paper will be in English.

The applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the qualifying marks is 45 out of 100 and for general category students, the qualifying marks is 50.

Results

DAVV DET 2023 final results will be declared on the official website, based on qualified marks.

Cut Off: There is no specific cut off for DAVV DET 2023, but the candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in the exam to qualify for the interview.

Counseling

Candidates who qualify the DAVV DET 2023 will be called for the next round of the selection process – interview after the results are announced. The date of the interview will be released on the official website along with qualified students’ name and roll number.

Interview Methodology: The interview for DAVV Ph.D admission 2023 will be conducted by the Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of the concerned subject. At the interview, candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a RAC.

The evaluation in DAVV DET 2023 interview will be based on 100 marks and it is given on the following criteria, each of 25 marks:

  • Research plan,
  • Research potential/ aptitude,
  • Communication skills,
  • Subject knowledge in the respective area of research.
