Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Minimum Qualification

  • The candidate must have passed the 10th standard or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects.

Minimum Aggregate Marks

  • 40% marks [average] in Mathematics and Science for General Candidates.
  • 35% marks [average] in Mathematics and Science for Schedule Caste Candidates.
  • 33% marks [average] in Mathematics and Science for Scheduled Tribes Candidates

Maximum Age

  • For General/OBC -20 years 6 months on 31st December 2023
  • For SC/ST – 23 years 6 months on 31st December 2023
  • Upper age limit is 20 years 6 months on 31st December 2023.

Application Process

  • Candidates are to apply online by logging into www.dte.assam.gov.in and click on “Online Application for PAT-2023” from May 2023 to June 2023
  • Candidates are requested to read the instructions carefully before filling the Online Application form available on the official website.

Application Fee

  • Application Fee – Rs.500/- + bank charges

Mode of Payment 

  • Online through Credit Card/Debit Card (ATM Card), Net Banking etc.
  • Offline payments can be made at any branch of State Bank of India by printing the generated Bank Challan and depositing the fee amount at any nearby SBI Branch.

Registration Process

Step 1 – If you want to apply for Polytechnic Courses, select option –
“Apply for Diploma Courses”
(Except Modern Office Management)
If you want to apply for Modern Office Management course of Girl’s Polytechnic, select option –
“Apply for Diploma Course of Modern Office Management”
After clicking on any one of the options the Application Form for Polytechnic Admission Test – 2023 will appear

Step 2 – Before filling up the Application Form, read all the eligibility criteria given in the Information Brochure (downloadable) given. Don’t leave any blank entry if it is mandatory to fill. Fill the Application form properly, upload the photograph & signature and save the Application form by clicking the ‘Submit’ button. You have the liberty to modify the information in the Application form till the submission of Payment details.

Step 3 – Once the Application form is saved, a ‘Application Number’ will be generated. Note down the number and keep it securely for future use. Now, click on “Next” to continue, you’ll be taken to the Applicant Login Area.

Step 4 – Now, take a print-out of ‘Bank Challan’ by clicking ‘Print Bank Challan’ link. The Challan has 3 parts. Part I is the DTE copy, Part II is the Applicant’s copy and Part III is the Bank’s copy.

You may close the window now and proceed for depositing the “Application Fee” at any Branch of “State Bank of India (SBI)”.

Step 5 –Deposit Rs. 500/- along with the generated Challan in any Branch of SBI.

Step 6 – After depositing, you will receive both the DTE copy and the Applicant’s copy of the Bank Challan from the Bank. After making payment at Bank, proceed to the next step for entering the details of payment at the website.

Step 7 – Log on to https://dte.assam.gov.in/ and click on Online Application for PAT 2023. In the next page, click on “Applicant Login” situated in the top Menu bar, an Applicant Login Screen will appear. Sign in your account using your ‘Application Number’ & your ‘Date of Birth’.
You’ll be taken to the Applicant Login Page.

Step 8 – Click on the option ‘Enter Fee Payment Details’

Step 9 – Enter (a) Bank Journal No. (b) Name of Branch of Bank, (c) Deposit Date, and press ‘Submit Payment Info’ button to continue.

Step 10 – Next, Click on ‘Print of Application form’ from the Applicant Login Page. Take two (2) copies of print-out of your Application form, one for your reference and the other for submission to DTE Office. Put your LTI (Left Thumb Impression) in the given space provided in the Printed Application Form

Step 11 – Submit the Application form (along with the DTE copy of Bank Challan) through Speed post to the following address:

List of documents to be submitted at the time of interview / discussion before departmental research committee:

Application Form with two recent passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazetted Officer and pasted on the application duly completed to be submitted along with the following certificates at the time of counselling.

(i) True copies of marksheets of qualifying examinations passed.

(ii) Documentary evidence-of age (true copy of Admit Card or Certificate of the Board/University)

(iii) Up-to-date character certificate from the Head of the Institutions last attended.

(iv) Caste certificate, if claimed, belong to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/OBC/MOBC/Tea-Garden/Ex-Tea Garden Labour Community from the appropriate
authority as decided by Government from time to time ( as mentioned in the form).

(v) The candidates applying for seats under Moran community quota must produce certificate from Assam Moran Sabha with the counter signature of DC/SDO (Civil)of the concerned District.

(vi) Certificate from Director of Sports, Assam and proof of representing State if applied against Sport and NCC quota.

(vii) Reserved seats against Freedom Fighter category (both Paternal & Maternal).
(a) Certificate from the Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, Assam.
(b) A direct relationship certificate of the candidate with the freedom fighter from the Deputy Commissioner or his authorized official if applied against the category of Freedom Fighter.

(viii) Certificate from the Director, Rajik Sainik Board, Assam if applied against category of retired defence personnel

(ix) Certificate from the employer, if applied against quota of Central Government employees etc.

Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Exam: Offline Mode
  • Language: The medium of the examination is English.
  • Exam Duration: 2 hours
  • Type of Question: Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type
  • Total Marks: 150 marks
  • Marking Scheme: There is no Negative Marking

The distribution of marks and questions in each subject is given below:

  • Mathematics – 30 questions of 30 marks
  • Physics – 30 questions of 30 marks
  • Chemistry – 20 questions of 20 marks
  • English – 20 questions of 20 marks

There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

Syllabus

  • Syllabus shall be based on the Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim. It will consist of subjects science & Mathematics.

Admit Card

  • Admit cards can be downloaded from the website www.dte.assam.gov.in Admit cards will only be released for the candidates who have submitted the application form on or before the last date. 
  • Admit Card contains Candidate’s Name, Form No, Roll No, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to him/her in the admit card.

Assam PAT Result

  • The result of Assam PAT 2023 will be declared on the official website of the exam conducting authority. Candidates can check their result by entering their roll number and date of birth. The result will contain the candidate’s score and rank obtained in the exam.
