Department of School Education (Government of Andhra Pradesh) is the department which is responsible to conduct various examinations. AP LPCET (language pandit common entrance test) is conducted by Directorate of Government Examinations which is an exam conducting body working under the department of school education.

AP LPCET is conducted for admission into the one year course of Language Pandit, the languages are Telugu, Hindi and Urdu. Every year this examination is conducted by Directorate of Government Examinations in 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh.


Langauge Pandit Training Course (LPT) - One year

Age Limit:

Min. 19 years.
No upper age limit.

Academic Qualification:

  • Telugu Pandit: BA (Telugu Literature) or (Oriental Language-Telugu) or Bachelor of Oriental Language Telugu or A Graduate degree with optional subject Telugu or MA (Telugu)
  • Hindi Pandit: A graduate degree with optional subject Hindi or Bachelor of Oriental Language Hindi or Praveen of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha or Vidwan of Hindi Prachara Sabha, Hyderabad or any other equivalent recognized qualification in Hindi (BA Standard) by the Government of Andhra Pradesh or MA (Hindi)
  • Urdu Pandit: BA (Urdu Literature) or BA (Oriental Language Urdu) or Bachelor of Oriental Language Urdu or A Graduate Degree with optional subject Urdu of M.A (Urdu).

AP LPCET Syllabus:

The subjects and syllabus are :

1) Numerical ability: - Four Fundamental operations (Addition, Subtraction, Division and Multiplication) and Averages.

- Telugu Pandit - 1st Language of 8th to 10th classes of AP State
- Hindi Pandit -- 2nd Language of 8th to 10th classes of AP State
- Literature: Graduate Degree Standard

Paper Pattern of AP LPCET:

The Common Entrance Examination shall be of completely objective type containing only multiple choice questions. The duration of written examination is One and Half hours only, with maximum 100 marks as shown below.

Part I Current Affairs 20 Questions
Part II Numerical Ability 10 Questions
Part III Language 30 Questions
Part IV Literature 40 Questions

100 questions,each carry one mark.(100 marks)
