Chandigarh University has decided to conduct an entrance cum scholarship test named as\u00a0Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET)<\/a>\u00a0for admission to various programs so as to provide an opportunity to bright and inquisitive young minds from across the country to study in most challenging and diverse academic environment. \n\nCUCET Syllabus<\/a> has been released by the authorities of Chandigarh University. Candidates can check the syllabus of CUCET 2023 to know the subjects, units and topics that have to be studied for the upcoming entrance examination. The subject-wise CUCET syllabus will allow the candidates to become familiar with the topics that they have to prepare to excel in the examination. CUCET Mathematics (Lateral Entry) Syllabus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mathematics (Lateral Entry)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unit-1: Algebra<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Complex Numbers: Complex number, representation, modulus and amplitude.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Basics and properties of logarithms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Partial fractions (linear factors, repeated linear factors, non-reducible quadratic factors excluding repeated factors).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Meaning of npr & ncr (mathematical expression). Binomial theorem (without proof) for positive integral index (expansion and general form); binomial theorem for any index (expansion without proof), first and second binomial approximation with applications to engineering problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Determinants and Matrices \u2013 Expansion of determinants (upto 3rd order, using properties and otherwise), solution of equations (upto 3 unknowns) by Crammer\u2019s rule, definition of Matrices with types, addition, subtraction and multiplication of matrices (upto 3rd order), Minors and Co-factors, inverse of a Matrix by Adjoint method (upto 3rd order), solution of simultaneous equations (upto 3rd order) by Matrix method. Area of a triangle using determinants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Unit-2: Trigonometry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Concept of angle, measurement of angle in degrees, grades and radians and their conversions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • T-Ratios of Allied angles (without proof), Sum, Difference formulae and their applications (without proof). Product formulae (Transformation of product to sum, difference and vice versa). T-Ratios of multiple angles, sub-multiple angles (2A, 3A, A\/2).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Applications of Trigonometric terms in engineering problems such as to find an angle of elevation, height, distance etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Unit-3: Co-ordinate Geometry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Cartesian and Polar coordinates (two dimensional), conversion from Cartesian to Polar coordinates and vice-versa<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Slope of a line, equation of straight line in various standards forms (without proof); (slope intercept form, intercept form, one-point form, two-point form, symmetric form, normal form, general form), inter section of two straight lines, concurrency of lines, angle between straight lines, parallel and perpendicular lines, perpendicular distance formula, conversion of general form of equation to the various forms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
